AGES Group

AGES Group is a grassroots start-up social enterprise that leverages local knowledge to develop appropriate solutions to Urban and Rural land-use issues. I came into the EcoVillages Project  at it's start-up phase. I helped conduct early research in order to develop a strategic plan that incorporates academic research, business acumen and lived experience.

 As a part of this project,  I facilitated public consultations and community engagement initiatives with stakeholders and thought leaders from the United Nations Environment Programme, Universities and local entrepreneurs. I contributed to outreach and engagement initiatives through the development of curated online services, consultations and organized engagement events and campaigns.

I had the opportunity to attend entrepreneur training at the African Enterprise Challenge Fund which was used just in time training for social entrepreneurs. In addition, I developed grant proposals and applications.

Rooftops Canada

Rooftops Canada works with partner organizations to improve housing conditions, build sustainable communities and develop a shared vision of equitable global development. As the International Development Program Assistant, I worked with full-time staff to enhance community outreach initiatives. I worked with stakeholders to build and support fundraising campaigns, marketing and communications, and partnership engagement (NACHU, ONPHA, WAT, and Mazingira).

 In support of this, I was responsible for outreach which included editing and producing monthly newsletters, creating tooklkits, vlog/blog posts, and grant writing/fundraising materials.

International Development Program Assistant

Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund

I piloted the  Ecological  Programming at the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund. The framework effectively mainstreamed environmental issues into NMCF programs and provided tools and resources for educators and trainers to mainstream environmental lessons into the the Ontario Curriculum. 

In addition, I provided support to fundraising events and campaigns. I was responsible for creating corporate contacts for community investment. This resulted in small donations for fundraising events.
