As Head of Sector within the PMO – Office for the Administration & Payment of Individual Entitlements, I lead the Luxembourg team responsible for managing the Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme. Overseeing nearly 50 staff members across multiple teams, my role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including business management and planning, human resources management, institution representation, negotiations, and internal communication.

These varied tasks allow me to apply key competencies such as analyzing and problem-solving, negotiation, and communication. I prioritize client orientation and quality management while ensuring confidentiality, empathy, and effective teamwork. Leadership and the ability to prioritize, organize, and deliver results are at the core of my approach.

Head of Sector

EU Coordination
Chair monthly coordination meetings on EU-CH trade relations and EU trade policy issues and various working groups on specific trade barriers. Organise and coordinate meetings with different Swiss stakeholder and experts from business and academia.

Trade policy developments / Bilateral agreements
Monitor and implement policy developments and analysis in all trade related sectors ranging from Agriculture, Industrial sector, financial services, digital economy to green deal. Coordinate with Headquarter developments and analysis. Participate and represent the EU in Joint Committees ranging from Agriculture to Land- and Airtransport.

Representation and communication activities
Participation in a vast range of activities to communicate the EU's position on EU trade policy, explain and defend EU economic and monetary policies to Swiss audience, particularly business and academics. Participation as speaker to conferences on trade and economic matters, such as the DSA / DMA/ EU-CH and EU-LIE trade relations/Free trade agreements or market access barriers. Participation on behalf of the EU in numerous conferences and events such as WEF, Financial Services, Digital economy, sustainable economy. Organisation of events such as working lunches for diplomats, CEO roundtables, field trips to CH and Liechtenstein businesses.
 
Negotiations
Participation and representation in preparatory, informal and coordination meetings on all EU-CH / EU-LIE trade related issues with Administration, stakeholders, business associations and governmental and political representatives.

Management
Plan and manage the activities of the staff. Allocate tasks and responsibilities including monitoring and controlling performance, respect of the priorities and fulfillment of the objectives.
 
Diplomatic activities
Acting for the Ambassador as required or as chargé d'affaires in his absence. Representing the Ambassador at events, official invitations, receptions and conferences.

I am a Commission official with profound expertise in international relations, negotiations and human
resources, with working experience in the multilateral/international as well as diplomatic environment and
excellent communication skills in EN/FR/ES/DE. Serving the European Union for over 25 years, I bring along the expertise and skills to face the challenges of today's world. This includes: in-depth experience in human resources and management challenges through my work in the ethics and disciplinary field; and over 15 years of experience in international negotiations on various topics such as FTAs, IPRs, financial services or public procurement. Finally I have broad and extensive experience in communication as a speaker, panellist or expert in conferences, workshops or congresses and gave trainings on numerous EU policies.
