But, (and is where my obsession with HGTV organizing shows rears its ugly head), my inner Marie-Kondo fights for the chance for a little content decluttering. I dig deep into your content and brand closet for a little auditing, organizing  & optimizing. 

Whether that means stretching out bite-size posts into a larger guide and distilling lengthy assets into bite-size, portable pieces. Or: it’s a superpower is untangling the complicated into easy, and accessible

Motivating people to deal with their mortgage is about as easy as getting your toddler to floss their teeth. 

Challenging, but not impossible.

Through in-person marketing events, email marketing and various customer touch-points, we were able to build rapport and start conversations that help our prospects and customers make informed decisions and find a mortgage product that works best for them (and their lifestyle).

As the in-house Marketing & Project Jill-of-All Trades for a high-volume boutique brokerage, my wheelhouse included:
✔️ keeping things running smoothly in the background

✔️ document management & following up on those 1001 loose ends 
✔️ paving the way for lead management and outreach.

In a nutshell:  transforming a mountain of disorganized leads and action items into manageable tasks and using copy as a way to educate and connect with people in an accessible and friendly way.

Stay At Home Mom

This needs to be on every primary caregiver’s resume because this work is so undervalued. 😔

Being a stay-at-home parent is this: a never-ending shift of daily chaos management.

During this period  I oversaw: education, extra-curricular activities, volunteering,  finances, life goals, moving, managing a renovation, budgets, dealing with 101 city hall forms, housekeeping - & maintenance, appt scheduling (and then, going to said appts), travel & recreation management for a busy family of 5 (with a then-toddler in tow).

Good thing I 💖 love my coworkers so much.

While “off” I continued to study marketing, inbound & content marketing strategies along with Virtual Assistant jobs.

I was the in-house marketing go-to when realtors needed something and they needed it  “yesterday.”

I provided creative & marketing services support for up to 3 local real estate offices (up to 300+ agents) by providing design support for in-house & client-facing marketing materials.

What did I accomplish? 

A quick turnaround of projects, lets-get-it-done attitude matched with an intuitive ability to capture: 
✔️ the realtor’s voice
✔️ their branding
✔️ their design/editorial preferences
✔️ signature style of realtors  

Basically, them in a personal-branded nutshell.

It required a creative and adaptive mindset to figure out what makes each realtor unique and quickly deliver them something that they would be proud to showcase.

 Bonus points: I also learned how to fix large-scale printers. Not bad for someone who’s not at all mechanically inclined.

I oversaw the entire print production process of various B2B and B2C publications including (but not limited to): Macleans, MoneySense, PROFIT & Flare. 

As the main liaison between the various departments, I made sure issues and special interest projects were:
✔️ Kept on the rails and progressing on schedule
✔️ Team members were updated with little chance of missed memos and broken telephone communication
✔️ Ensured the flow of information kept moving as events unfold - with A LOT of creative on-the-fly problem-solving.

In other words, I always had multiple contingencies at the ready (read here: a backup plan for my backup plan)  for inevitable last-minute news, advertising additions and/or editorial changes.

It’s a constant balancing act of managing the Publisher’s vision, the Editorial team’s needs & the  Advertiser’s demands - while keeping an eye on the bottom line.
