Finished some mandatory courses in Lex platform of Infosys and went through several KT sessions for better understanding of project needs and responsibilities before being onboarded into the project.

One Interesting fact about my job is, I got this offer based on my Linkedin profile and my submissions in the #codebaiscsresumeprojectchallenge , without any formal interview 😄 

I have recently switched to a data analyst role from Testing Engineer. The experience from working in the testing domain, helped me to become the best in identifying the hedge cases in all the scenarios.

🌀 Experiencing both butterflies and anxiety in your stomach at the same time!

That's the feeling I got when Hemanand Vadivel said this to me:

Getting this opportunity so early is very rare. I'm glad I've been given this chance.

(Advantage of working in a startup! 😉)

On one side, I love and respect this opportunity,

But there's another side, which is imposter syndrome. It kicks in and starts asking me these questions:

➡️ Am I good enough to be a manager?

➡️ Will I be able to manage the expectations?

➡️ How am I going to do my work along with managing all this?

And so on.

To get answers to these questions, I started researching and found this book:

"The Making of a Manager." written by Julie Zhuo (ex-VP Design @facebook)

The first chapter of this book answered all of my self-doubt questions.

Great individuals in any field or role are not born, they are made!

Managers are no exception to this.

Do you know your hourly rate?

The main reason most of us waste our time on social media and other time-consuming activities is that we are not aware of our hourly rate.

We know what our monthly salary is (for those who already have a job), and we know what our salary could be next month if we succeed in the interview with our efforts, 

but we don't know our hourly rate, which ultimately accumulates into days and months.

Once you know your hourly rate, you will be very cautious about how you spend your time.

Here’s how you can calculate your hourly rate from your monthly salary or expected monthly salary:

On average, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, there are about 𝟮𝟭 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 per month.

First, divide your monthly salary by 21, and then divide this by the number of hours you work.

For example, if my monthly salary at Infosys was 21,000, I would divide this by 21. So, I would get 1,000 per day and then divide this by the number of working hours.

So, 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬/𝟵 = 𝟭𝟭𝟭.𝟭𝟭.

My hourly rate was 112 rupees.

So, think about it: if you are scrolling through Instagram or LinkedIn mindlessly for hours, how much money are you spending? 🙊

Imagine you have a huge photo album that contains thousands of pictures from various events, trips, and moments in your life. 

If you tried to look at all these pictures at once, it would be overwhelming, and you might not find what you're looking for. So, what do you do? 

You organize your pictures into sections or pages, so you can flip through them easily, focusing on one group at a time. 

This is similar to how paginated reports work in Power BI.

Paginated reports in Power BI are like organized, detailed photo albums for your data. 

Just like a photo album is divided into pages to make it easier to view and find pictures, paginated reports organize your data into pages, making it easier to read and analyze. 

These reports are designed for printing or PDF generation, allowing you to see your data in a fixed layout, one page at a time. 

Each page can be formatted precisely, ensuring that tables, charts, and text are displayed exactly how you want them.

In summary, paginated reports in Power BI help you present your data in a structured, easily navigable format, much like a well-organized photo album makes it easier to enjoy and share your pictures.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 

I was going through last month's Feature Updates of Power BI, and this was one of the interesting features that got my attention.

Using Copilot, we can auto-generate the description of measures.

When will this be useful?

In a few projects, as a Data analyst, you will be creating the semantic model and publishing it to the cloud, and the end-user will create a report on top of that in the Power BI service. (You won’t be creating the dashboard)

In such cases, providing them with the essential measures and descriptions will largely help them.
