I build high-converting websites for early-stage startups and GTM Agencies. I also like basketball.

I closed a $2,000 deal via a LinkedIn DM - and got the client to publicly post about it (without even asking).

is $2,000 a big deal? not for everyone.
but for my two-month-old agency, it’s a win.

and more importantly, it proves that genuine effort still works.

you don’t need a sales background.
or a fancy funnel.
just time, care, and a more thoughtful approach.

most web designers I know struggle with LinkedIn cold outreach.

I’ve been there.

so I started doing something different.

I began sending voice notes with value upfront.

and in them, I’d reference something personal I found about the prospect - not as a gimmick, but to show I’d actually done my research.

here’s the kind of stuff I look for:
→ a YouTube video of their piano recital from 2013
→ a college football profile from 2014 listing their favorite book
→ a podcast interview where they talked about wanting to own a cattle farm and their passion for Brazilian jiu-jitsu

(these are all things I’ve actually found in under 5 minutes of research)

none of it is flashy.
but it’s specific - and clearly not pulled from a template.

then I offer to send them a quick loom with some ideas I have to optimise conversion for their website.

around 60% of people ignore it.
but the 40% that respond? almost always end up booking a call.

for this particular prospect, I built a quick mockup -
reworked some of their copy, cleaned up the layout.
no pitch. just value.

and just like that closed them for a $2,000 website redesign.

then, without me asking, they shared the experience publicly (shoutout Sean) - not to hype me up, but to highlight the power 1:1 personlisation.

and that post led to inbound leads.

it's made me realise something simple:
if you’ve got no leads, no clients, and time on your hands -
hyper-personalisation is your edge.

you don’t need automation right now.
you need effort.

the bar is low.
and right now, effort is still the easiest way to stand out.

I needed a Clay logo while building a logo carousel for a GTM & RevOps agency.

for most companies, that means:
 - googling “<company> logo transparent” or "<company> logo svg"
 - browsing through images sourced from random blogs
 - ending up with a low-res file with a white background
 - manually removing the background in photopea

but on Clay’s website?

right-click on the navbar logo and you get → “Download brand assets”

just like that you've got the full logo kit. SVGs, PNGs, light/dark versions. zero friction. 

it’s a small detail - but it says a lot.

Clay wants people to feature their brand. and they’ve made it super easy to do it well.

Cargo 🧱 is another example.

the upside?
• it’s effortless for others to feature them
• their logo always looks clean and professional
• agencies don’t waste time hunting or fixing low-res images

this is smart marketing without doing any extra marketing.

if you’re a SaaS company and your logo isn’t easy to find and use… you’re making it harder for people to give you free exposure.
