▪ Lead two distinct teams of developers, a data engineer, and a QA to deliver robust, data-driven, customer-facing ecommerce initiatives on two products: the main ecommerce experience (ssense.com), and multi-channel product personalization.

▪ Designed and developed a targeted product discount experience, enabling liquidation of slow-moving stock at healthy margins with little-to-no impact on brand image as a full price luxury retailer.

▪ Work with Product and Data Science to develop and deploy multiple models driving increased customer engagement in ecommerce and marketing channels. Most notably, two models increased every email KPI > 100% in all sales campaigns.

▪ Architect an international multi-edge cache solution integrated entirely in a CI/CD environment. Empowered developers to deploy Cache Infrastructure as Code fully covered by unit and integration tests, while enabling the business to conduct A/B tests at any cache edge. Positively impacted key ecommerce metrics in non-North American markets through decreased time-to-first-byte (TTFB) of nearly 500ms.

▪ Designed a Product Catalog powered by Elastic Search, consolidating the many sources of truth and exposing a single API to power ecommerce and marketing channels with both consistent and highly-available near-realtime catalog information.

▪ Responsible for all ecommerce and omnichannel initiatives across the company. Owned, measured, and optimized customer-facing ecommerce KPIs through careful A/B testing and canary feature rollouts.

▪ Lead the design, development, and release of a Point-of-Sale to over 150 stores, 6 countries, and 4 languages to replace existing off-the-shelf solution. Realized savings of $15,000/mo in licensing while also enabling the business to achieve both BOPIS (buy online, pickup in store)/BORIS (buy online, return in store) and utilize stores as ecommerce fulfillment centers.

▪ Facelifted ecommerce branding and UI/UX through a 12-month collaboration with internationally renowned Montreal-based design agency Sid Lee.

▪ Drive the company through shifting technical and compliance requirements as it transitioned from private to public in less than 6 months (TSX: $LXR).

▪ Lead and mentor a team of developers ranging from junior to senior, including implementing and enforcing highly-productive practices such as: test automation, continuous integration and delivery, moving from manyrepo to monorepo, etc.

▪ Reduced time to 1st production deploy for new employees from many days to ~6 hours; setting up dev, committing, deploying to prod, and monitoring the impact.

▪ Implemented a change data capture (CDC) system to help move business logic out of old, untested legacy ERP into an upgraded system incrementally and confidently. Improved backoffice and fulfillment operations efficiency as a direct result of streamlined process improvement.

▪ Re-architected customer-facing applications with a cloud-first mindset, enabling quick and automated horizontal scaling of all front- and back-end services, adding capacity within 45 seconds of significant traffic change.

▪ Leading a team of developers (senior, intermediate, and junior), QAs, and test automation engineers to deliver tested, resilient, and performant applications and web services.

▪ In charge of maintaining the existing SSENSE.com website as well as many of the underlying services ensuring high availability, performance, and uptime.

▪ Designed a new web application to power SSENSE.com optimized for high volume and low latency using a combination of TypeScript on the server-side and ES6 (+ Vue.js) on the client-side.

▪ Strengthened the businesses confidence in the new web application by introducing a hybrid incremental rollout strategy where both applications run simultaneously in a production environment. This strategy made it possible to increase coverage of the new application in small, reversible, and controlled steps instead of doing a dangerous complete drop-in replacement.

▪ Helped transition a team of 15 PHP developers to new technologies, including TypeScript, Node.js, and Docker.

▪ Introduced network, log, deployment, and application standards that other teams adhered to while designing and developing new services.

▪ Implemented a Continuous Delivery workflow that helped teams go from a slow weekly release process to daily releases they could have more confidence in.

▪ Participated in the attraction, acquisition, and retention of other Node.js and PHP developers to help grow the team.

▪ As technical lead and co-founder of a web hosting CRM startup, I implemented the initial client-facing prototype alongside my other two co-founders to pitch customers and investors.

▪ Later developed the prototype into a public beta: a functional data-driven web-application using Knockout.js, consuming a RESTful API written in PHP + Laravel.
