routers, switches, either booting correctly or not joining a network for reasons caused at any of the 7
network troubleshooting layers to find a resolution.
•  Spiceworks logging, resolving of tickets and support notes by taking down model name, model number,
serial and service tag numbers for any machines or equipment which required fixing. Logging the
symptoms of the issue and details obtained from the customer, testing theory of probable cause, the
result and resolution and finally checking all functions of the device are still active and responding as
expected. Proving experience in the industry leading method for troubleshooting as an individual or as
part of a team.
•  Recommending and deploying equipment to clients and customers such as customers looking
for a new office PC, laptop, printer, server or smartphone. Determining a budget and use
level based on research conducted for us to purchase, install and maintain the new network device,
which gave me a deep understanding of how hardware and equipment closely relate to budget,
operation and maintenance time and costings of a business and its processes.
•  Repair and restoration of damaged machines and equipment, often PCs and laptops. This included
replacing a damaged hard drive, fan, or upgrading an older slow PC, laptop or server with new hardware
components and OS. Displaying experience of systems working at their hardware level.
•  Site visits to client warehouses and offices for layer 1, physical connection works with ethernet and/or
fiber optic connectivity with direct local connections being made at servers, PCs and laptops for new
connections, installations, troubleshooting or maintenance, developing my understanding of physical
network infrastructure.
