I currently work as the team leader of the Volunteers Around the World dental chapter at Butler University. VAW focuses on promoting global access to healthcare and health equity by working with local doctors to provide free medical and dental care to local communities around the world. As the team leader, and I worked to recruit at team of interns and coordinate an outreach trip. Given that Butler did not previously have this chapter, I worked to found and establish the organization on campus. In May of 2022, we completed our outreach trip to San Pedro la Laguna, Guatemala. This experience has helped me greatly improve my leadership skills as well as my understanding of global health.
