Responsible for managing largest broker requests from start to finish, ensuring the clients needs is met at all times. Support Underwriters and other departments relating to the insurance policies from quotation to policy set ups, reporting and maintenance. 

One of my favourite accomplishment to date was to be selected to go on 3 month secondment to Dubai, UAE office from March – June 2009 returning to the UK now with responsibility for Middle East business. I was the first point of contact, with sole responsibility on covering the underwriting desk dealing with all large new business and renewal quotations and policy set ups. I coached and trained other members of staff on certain aspects of the role including individual renewals.

I am the only member within team to hold an account management position within this current role which consists of being the first point of contact for our largest broker.

Account Manager/Assistant Underwriter

Producing quotations for direct customers and Brokers. Dealing with general and ad-hoc queries regarding our product range. Building and maintaining relationships on an internal and external basis. Working within a team to meet customer requirements and quotation turnaround targets. Used strong communication skills to deal with customers on a regular and always demanding role.

'I now feel in control!' That was the feedback after an in-person 1-day Business Boost.

There is something different about the vibe of working with somebody in person. Especially since we are still feeling the effects of the pandemic. We are still warming up to meeting people in person. But what you can achieve, is sometimes much more special than had it been if on an online meet.

My client was overthinking. Wasting time procrastinating on things they thought they should be doing. Sound familiar? We have all been there.

It is how you move out of that feeling and gain momentum. Then things will start to change.

In this session, we started from scratch. Looked at their service offering. Talked through financials. Reconnected with their why. The change in my client's tone compared to the start was immediate. By lunchtime, we were in our stride.

We devised practical plans and achievable bite-size steps to take. The feeling of action to start gaining control again was electric.

The relief was immense.

Now my client has a plan to get to work on and when we catch up again in 1 month, I bet they will have smashed a lot of those plans!
