In 10 weeks we help them understand that their enthusiasm and attitude are the best tools they have. Our life mastery coursework lays the foundation for the belief that they can work hard and actively build their lives. Our trades skills program gives them hands on experience with a number of trades and countless tools. It is every bit a preapprenticeship program with the added component of teaching interpersonal communication and emotional intelligence skills. When these students graduate and navigate the first steps of their new career, it is a very cool thing to watch. For some of our students it means they believe in themselves in a way they never had before. It’s about standing taller, contributing to a team, building the foundations of their future while building the structures of their communities. Fortitude is about their hard work.
