Officers and soldiers often struggle over whether to reenlist or leave for a career or education opportunity in the private sector. As a 9-year Reservist , and the wife of an Active Duty infantryman, my first son was born while my husband was deployed, and my second son arrived 3 days before his third tour in Afghanistan. Fast forward 7 years later and I’m now AGR and he’s a retired, 100% disabled Vet. I know firsthand how complicated these transition decisions can be as you sift through the flood of information and plan for the best possible future for you and your loved ones. Many are unaware of just how much help is available to them when transitioning from the service. As a U.S. Army Reserve Career Counselor, I serve my fellow countrymen and women by helping to find balance and support in this transition.
