Action for Children

I lead the Marketing Team for Commercial Services at Action for Children which covers a portfolio of products and services. This includes large national childcare brands Spring Nurseries and Spring Oscars, retail project 1869 and other developing commercial products and publications. I work within the Leadership Team and write the sales and marketing strategy and plans for all of our products and services, whilst working directly with the Head of Commercial to write the 5 year business plan. <br><br>Working at a strategic level, I monitor and evaluate the marketing plan against set KPI's and how they were applied each quarter, providing detailed reports and analysis. This includes in-depth monitoring and analysis of marketing campaigns and sales conversion to meet financial targets. A large part of my role includes research and market intelligence, identifying business development opportunities and risk areas. <br><br>I use leadership skills to oversee and develop the marketing team, keeping them motivated and on track to achieve objectives within each quarter. I oversee all marketing activity for our commercial services which involves providing professional marketing training to a team of over 60 people to encourage and support them in finding and converting sales leads and growing the brands.

Commercial Marketing Manager

I manage and oversee all of the marketing for a number of products such as publications and childcare.
I plan and write the marketing strategies and plans, as well as prepare the statistical, data-driven reports for the Head of Developments Ltd. A big part of my role means working within the SLT and supporting with the overall business strategy. I work with key stakeholders within Action for Children to support with fundraising campaigns and grow our brands. 

I train, mentor and line-manage a Digital Marketing Apprentice that I recently recruited and a large area of my work is providing regular marketing training in all areas to a team of 40 childcare business managers and designing and presenting a full sales process, whilst providing ongoing support.
I also design and create social media content whilst Managing 40 business accounts on all of the main social media channels. Being a small team, I take on all marketing roles such as website management and updates, blog writing, content creation, campaign planning, brand partnerships, email marketing and PR.

I plan and execute effective marketing campaigns and activities to increase income with a result of increasing profits for the charity.

Interim Marketing Manager

Within my role as Sales and Marketing Officer, I worked within different teams to deliver effective sales and marketing activities for Action for Children Developments Ltd. I worked on numerous businesses within Developments Ltd from retail to childcare in a variety of areas of Digital Marketing such as content creation, blog writing, managing social media accounts, regularly updating the website and designing creative and engaging campaigns all within the childcare chain to increase our profits for the charity.

Responsible for overseeing all social media activity and use for 38+ businesses in childcare and managing the social media and content creation for our 1869 retail project, Spring Nurseries and Spring Oscars main channels. I completed a rebrand for our high-end charity shop project and monitored the use of branding use for all businesses.

Sales and Marketing Officer

I owned a successful baby and toddler clothing brand which became a hit on social media with a wide audience including the likes of Stacey Solomon and Rachaele Hambleton. 

Within my role I gained valuable knowledge and experience in Business Management and further Digital Marketing. Being the only employee, I took care of every aspect of the business from the buying in of high-quality and ethical stock, building relationships with suppliers and customers to managing the marketing of the brand. 

I managed the businesses financials including allocating budgets for marketing, sample stock, equipment, overheads and more whilst also filing the tax returns and managing financial data. 

On a day-to-day basis, I managed the marketing activity with a heavy focus on social media marketing. The brand grew rapidly and I built a relationship with Stacey Solomon and Award Winning Author Rachaele Hambleton who were on board with supporting the growth of my brand, particularly on Instagram. I spent time networking with celebrities, social media influencers and customers. Marketing activities included email marketing campaigns, social media campaigns, creating flyers and attending local events. 

I managed positive relationships with customers by keeping in contact with them through our social media channels and received a large backing of support from clients and prospects with my personal and humane approach. Customer retention was maintained by keeping clients engaged with the brand on social media through my consistent brand image, engaging marketing material and regular social media posts. 

My brands image became recognised across social media with very positive feedback on the branding which became an example to other small businesses and my social media accounts consistently displayed fantastic results through the use of analytics which prompted other small businesses to purchase my social media training e-book, thus increasing sales and exploring more sales potential.

Business Owner 

Minster Micro Computers Ltd

Following my apprenticeship completion, I was offered a permanent role to assist the Sales and Marketing teams with their research, campaign creation and delivery and measurement of campaign success. 

One of my core responsibilities was the social media marketing for the brand to meet the growth goal. This included keeping the social media updated and consistent, maintaining the branding, company information and imagery to develop engaging and shareable content. It was also within this responsibility to create in-depth reports based on the analytical data whilst planning for future improvements. Within my social media responsibility I also developed and planned any paid ad campaigns within budget. 

I regularly wrote copy for website blogs and editorial for business magazines such as Business Direction to generate brand awareness and to grow our audience, thus generating leads. I regularly used Wordpress to update the website and upload blogs and web content such as downloadable documents and event details. 

I attended networking events and business exhibitions with the sales team in which it was my responsibility to support the stand setup and marketing material distribution. Attending the events helped me to gain lots of experience in networking with prospects and developing leads which I then followed up on. I attended meetings for leads that I had generated with both the Sales Manager and Financial Director to build relationships with the prospects and secure the contracts. 

Working within this position gave me brilliant knowledge and experience all-round in both sales and marketing.

Sales and Marketing Assistant 

I worked as Marketing Apprentice at Minster whilst gaining my Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing. My role included updating the social media platforms daily whilst reading analytical data and reporting monthly on our social media growth and audience insights. I maintained the Wordpress website regularly, updating it with blogs and content I wrote whilst also completing required updates. This gained me valuable Wordpress knowledge and experience. 

I gained all round experience in marketing including telemarketing, designing marketing literature, creating engaging social media content and email marketing. I used a CRM system to keep our database updated and produced informational email campaigns advising our B2B clients of software offers and company updates.
