I am an experienced and team-focused tech lead who has a passion for clean, well thought-out quality code that solves real world problems and make peoples’ lives easier. Software development is not black and white, and the most important attribute of code is that it is easily understandable by developers and highly aligned with the needs and workflows it is meant to support. The secret to good software architecture is to deeply understand the languages and frameworks being used, the implications of the design decisions taken and based on that weigh pros and cons. I'm a big advocate of composing single-responsibility, reusable, and well-crafted building blocks. I believe this is best achieved through loosely coupled components. Along with quality, generating real value is my primary work value, and I firmly believe that the most powerful way to generate business value is to deeply understand the people who are going to use the software. This includes understanding their goals, their pain points, and their ways of working. Value generation within the development team is just as important as direct value generation towards the end-user of the product. The key to cultivating close-knit, high performing teams characterised by trust and great interpersonal relationships, is to approach people with kindness, curiosity and respect, and to see them as the whole, complex human beings they are, instead of narrowly as their professional selves. All great things are built by great teams, and I know how to work with team dynamics and cultivate a pleasant, trusting culture that leads to happy developers and great performance.
