Selected by Leadership for Educational Equity as one of 110 Public Policy Advocacy Fellows across the nation. I will be working with Serve Illinois Commission on a Public Policy project, while also receiving additional support from Leadership for Educational Equity's national office. During the summer 2014, I will:
- Research best practices for background checks regarding prospective volunteers within a school setting
- Attend 3-4 regional professional development and networking events organized by Leadership 
for Educational Equity, which may include pre-work and follow-up assignments 
- Participate in 1-2 national training conference calls and webinars organized by Leadership for 
Educational Equity 
- Participate in at least 3 individual coaching calls with LEE staff regarding my fellowship experience and short and long-term policy/advocacy goals
- Complete a Summer Fellowship Portfolio, including a sample work product from my placement, an updated copy of my resume and a completed leadership plan, by the end of my summer placement.
