This started as the ultimate side hustle making coat hangers for fancy electric cars. Solved a very simple problem - where does someone who has a $100k+ EV hang their jacket? On the hook I invented. Sold enough of these bad boys for the Model S, then made ones for the Model X and was able to scale up to 25 products for the Model S, X and 3 and deliver those products to thousands of customers worldwide.

Worked on a lot of pre-construction projects to help image the subsurface without actually digging aka Geophysics aka sending waves through the ground and figuring out what they look like when they come back up. Projects ranged from site investigations, Ground Penetrating Radar surveys, down-hole seismic and shoring/excavation design. Basically the projects ended up becoming incredibly tedious and I felt like I was not growing anymore. I also had started a side hustle (EVitems®) shortly after joining, and grew it to a point where I was able to venture out on my own as an entrepreneur. Grateful for the experience and it truly helped shape my take on a 9-5 no longer being the "dream job" in my eyes.

I joined the company when they had almost no presence in Canada as a member of the original 8 team members in BC. I helped open the first store in Vancouver, educated a ton of people about electric cars, trained more people as we grew, helped open the first Tesla Supercharger in Canada (Squamish, BC), sold a ton of Teslas, helped coordinate and manage events, cruised around in a $100k+ premium electric car, and made very, very little money. I was drinking the kool-aid like everyone else, but shortly after graduating university, I realized my "dream job" was somewhere out there and that I should probably put my degree to use. Tesla was a great experience where I dealt with tons of people - both internally and externally and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

I almost threw up twice just now…here’s why

Have you heard of the birthday workout? I just finished it and here what it entails:

1) Take 100 subtract your new age (I turned 32) to determine the number of reps you have to do. For me it’s 68

2) Do 68 reps of each exercise - push-ups, pull-ups, jump squats, mountain climbers and burpees in 32 minutes (the number of minutes corresponding to your age). 

It doesn’t matter how you get them done, or in what order, just GET IT DONE!

As someone who works out/exercises 6+ times per week, this one always gets me. 

I always dread the workout, but this year I beat my time from last year by 5 minutes - 24:05 today vs 29:02 last year. 

I’m in better shape than I have been in the last 3 years, and most importantly my knee is FINALLY consistently pain free for the first time since 2020, which means I’m moving well on the basketball court and getting buckets!

I’m truly grateful to be here, and am not taking health for granted. 

Here’s to 32, maximizing life’s moments and No Days Wasted.
