Honorable Mention 🎖 at #UNWorldInnovationDay Hack 2022 awards ceremony held on 27th May 2022, sponsored by Oracle,Google and Polygon Technology organized by Hackmakers.

We came up 4th in a global hackathon. The competition had over 3500+ participants, 200+ teams with a lot of innovative and amazing solutions tackling daily life encountered issues by communities globally.

Team: Coral Brigadiers

Challenge # 1: Tech for Good 👍

Mentors: Jason Lowe , Fatima R., Fauzi Tahir, David Regalado, Lyn Ward

Solution: Our solution was about dramatic loss of Coral reefs globally. Coral Gardeners platform provide awareness and preservation activities both physically and virtually (using AR like Meta-Verse and Earth2 via APIs) so that appropriate action can take place with regards to areas with high alert level.

In the heart of the Eastern Cape's rustic Transkei, two souls brimming with vitality embarked on a government tender project that would become a symphony of community development. With unwavering determination, we stretched the boundaries of our capacity to breathe life into underprivileged schools.

Our mission? To supply schools with a treasure trove of stationary and furniture, fashioned from the very pulse of sustainability—recycled waste. Week after week, we forged an astounding 280 tables and chairs, each a testament to our commitment to nurturing dreams in the most humble of settings.

Our journey was illuminated by the wise and steady hand of Ms. Stella Kunju, our mentor and guiding light. With her wisdom, we were sculpted into artisans of hope, crafting not just furniture but opportunities, not just stationary but aspirations.
