Duty Engineer for UMS.
General maintenance, repairs and improvements to Engine Room equipment, as well as interior equipment, including air conditioning, refrigeration and elevators.

Responsible for all electrical work, fault finding, repairs, modifications and improvements (No ETO onboard).
Responsible for Planned Maintenance System, including managing ship spares.
Maintain vessel to a high operational standard.
Stand by for requests from guests for repairs and adjustments.
Dry Docking Sri Lanka.

2nd Engineer

Sole Engineer.
Responsible for Planned Maintenance System.
Overseeing all technical work, including Purchasing & Risk Assessments.
Bunkering Operations, including sourcing suppliers and ordering.
Directing on board Drills.
Liaison with contractors.
Liaison with Class and Flag for annual survey.
Liaison with Shipyard, with respect to warranty & modifications.

Chief Engineer

Stepped up as Chief Engineer when Chief was on leave/rotation.
Responsible for Planned Maintenance System.
Overseeing all technical work on a very technical yacht due to mast arrangement.
Bunkering Operations, including sourcing suppliers and ordering.
Liaison with Class and Flag for annual survey.
Busy Charter yacht with fast turn arounds required maintenance to be of the highest standard.

2nd/Chief Engineer

Irish Naval Service

I served in the Irish Navy for almost 10 Years before making the move to yachts. As the Engineering Officer onboard a Naval Vessel I was responsible for everything that keeps the ship afloat, moving and habitable. This included the hull and general structures of the ship, its main engines, (2 X SEMT Pielstick 18 PA6 V, 7094hp) and all auxiliary machinery, the main electrical generators, (3 X Caterpillar 3406B)  the electrical distribution system, the air conditioning, ventilation, heating systems and cold rooms as well as all fuel and water systems. I was responsible for the transfer of any sludge ashore. All fire fighting and damage control was my responsibility.

The ships carried out a Dry Dock on a 2 yearly basis. The planning, organisation and execution of this docking was arranged by me and my staff onboard. The jobs carried out in dock varied from dropping rudders and pulling tail shafts to overhauling all overboard discharge v/v’s.

Experienced Chief Engineer Unlimited with a demonstrated history of working in the maritime industry. Skilled in Electrical Wiring, Marine Engineering, Maintenance & Repair, New Builds, Refits & Drydocking. Strong professional with a Class 1 Unlimited COC.
