On a mission to collect and document 10,000 stories demonstrating the goodness of humanity. Basically, stories of impact focused on the wisdom that can be drawn from the human experience and showing the breadth of positive action around the world at all levels of society.

The aim is to inspire hope and positive action showing that impact can stem from anyone, anywhere no matter who they are and that it isn't confined to humanitarian or social impact. It's also to balance out negative  narratives to ignite hope and motivation.

We aspire to highlight people driving impact, be a voice for the voiceless, and show ordinary people doing extraordinary things that are grounded in universal human values of love, tolerance and peace.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, I spearheaded the Communications Division, overseeing a dedicated team of 15. My role involved crafting and overseeing the delivery of comprehensive communication strategies and activations both internal and external, as well as events, CSR , and social media. Achieved outstanding results commended by management delivering impactful results, fostering strategic partnerships, that positively contributed to the successful positioning of the brand vis a vis stakeholders.

Vice President of Communications 

UN Women

Reporting to the office director, responsible for strategic partnerships and communications.

Led the design of a full 6 months program including the successful curation and implementation of 22 events and partnerships at Expo 2020 from design to execution including strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and media relations. Spearheaded and led the implementation of 3 UN global summits and global campaigns including the International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security, the SDG5 Summit, the Unstereotype Alliance Anniversary at Expo 2020, He for She and Orange the World.

Highlights of my accomplishments: 

✦ Acted as a spokesperson in a variety of events and represented UN Women in various meetings with a focus on economic empowerment. Facilitated workshops for the private sector on the women empowerment principles (WEPs)

✦ Developed and nurtured all strategic partnerships for the UN Women UAE Liaison Office for the GCC with multiple stakeholders across, private, and public sectors, media, non-profits, women's organizations, and academia.

✦ Managed all internal and external communications for several high-level visits of senior UN Officials. Developed briefing files and notes, coordinated bilateral meetings, secured media interviews, and coverage, drafted speeches for events and managed all stakeholder engagements.

✦ Supported the operationalization of the UN Women UAE liaison office for the GCC; led annual strategic planning for the office for 2017-2019, and contributed to planning in 2021-2022.

✦ Championed the establishment of the UAE National Chapter of the Unstereotype Alliance, the first and only one in the Middle East amongst 11 global chapters, which grew from 1 member to 15 over 1 year. Chairing, and leading all meetings of the chapter engaging a coalition of private sector partners to leverage advertising as a force for good in reversing gender-based stereotypes.

During this tenure, I headed the communications function for the region reporting to the EEMA regional leader, and oversaw the work of 10 team members across various countries.

✦     Designed, developed and gained buy-in for a region-wide strategic communications strategy focused on reputation management and  communications across this geography.

✦       Led executive communications including strategic planning, content development, internal communications management and stakeholder engagement.

✦       Developed a strategy and action plan and worked on its implementation through the development of internal and external communications, organizing meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and managing all external speaking engagements for senior partners at major global events.

✦       Delivered leadership counsel and managed media relations, handling effectively all media issues and crisis communication.

Oversaw policy implementation including media and public speaking as well as charitable contributions to ensure strong governance. Successfully managed external communications including executive profiling, media relations and thought leadership for MEA Region President advancing PepsiCo’s narrative on corporate sustainability.

Highlights of my contributions:

✦       Successfully directed and led public policy and government affairs’ including communications, and stakeholder engagement.

✦       Represented PepsiCo in several industry associations including the International Food and Beverage Alliance (IFBA), and developed policy positions to support stakeholder engagement.

✦       Drove all brand PR campaigns for a variety of PepsiCo brands including Pepsi, Lays, Quaker, and Aquafina ensuring maximum media exposure, visibility, and message dissemination.

✦       Led the communication for a major regional restructuring handling all communications internal and external.

✦  Led internal communications and employee engagement in collaboration with HR. 

✦ Designed an employee volunteering program, and led the design and implementation of employee townhalls and regional awards.
