Success for me is when you’re able to empower people with your influence and touch their lives. When you’re a great leader that leads by example. My road map to success is never easy, but I am always prepared to buckle up and get ready for the roller coaster ride of life 🌠

Impatiently devouring knowledge while working across companies and functions enabled me to birth my own ventures. My belief that there is a better way to integrate work and play motivates me to share my philosophy with others through speaking and networking. My passion for women's empowerment, cultural and social diversity, learning and development, mentoring fresh graduates and job seekers lights a fire beneath everything I do. 

I am an enthusiastic Marketing & Communications and Public Relation Practitioner and I help transform and grow companies into beloved brands as the Chief of Marketing and Communications. I’m also building the vibrant community Malaysian women want and deserve with my Women Empowerment Series podcast on YouTube and LinkedIn.

Skepticism is your friend. Cynicism is your enemy.


As an optimist?

I believe anything is possible with:

-> The right mindset, effort, and team. 


When I bring creative ideas to the table?

I often face two types of pushback:

1) Skepticism: "Sounds great, but how would it work? Show me more."

2) Cynicism: "That's not possible. Here's why it will fail."


Skeptics are allies. They want to believe in your idea but need validation. Their questions come from a place of curiosity and a desire to understand.

Cynics, on the other hand, have already made up their minds. They believe things are generally not possible and seek to cut down ideas to appear "smart" or "deep."

Instead of immediately dismissing an idea, ask yourself: 
"What happens if this goes right? What does success look like?"

Then, approach it with healthy skepticism: 
"This could be huge. But how would it work? I need to dig deeper."

This mindset is a superpower for those who want to partner with, invest in, and back teams trying to achieve the impossible.

So next time you hear a bold idea, resist the urge to be a cynic.

Embrace the skeptic within you instead -- in the right way.

Ask questions. Seek to understand.

And let optimism guide you.


Because with the right perspective, I really do believe:

Anything is possible.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to your 16-year-old self? I loved Simon Sinek's response when I asked him in our #MeetTheAuthor interview:

“I would tell myself that you don’t have to know all the answers. And if you don’t, you don’t have to pretend that you do.”

I couldn’t agree more. When I started out in business I would just nod along in meetings, when I didn’t have a clue what all the acronyms and business jargon meant. After a while, I realised I wasn't learning anything and started plucking up the courage to raise my hand. 

Every time I would ask a question, I was amazed by how many other people in the room followed suit. I realised what whenever you're in doubt, just say so! Have you had any similar experiences?

Those who can't do, teach - George Bernard Shaw

Everyone is where they are now because of their own teachers - if we're good, bad or sour, more or less it was because of our teachers. Be it Cikgu Suraya (you know, you know la), Cikgu Ali Muthu Ahlai Watanabe Kurasaki Ajinomoto - they all dedicate their time, money and sweats so that we're becoming useful to others, hopefully.

And that's why Malaysia is the only country in the world to have 2 ministries handling education - lower-tier, and high-tier. We are far more advanced than most countries in term of allocation size (the biggest), and if one group of teachers berkelahi/fighting, then having 2 ministries would solve that problem. We are smart.

AI basics in primary school curriculum is unheard of in this world, including Pluto.

1. Primary student barely know about sex education, and you want to teach them about AI? How you can explain it to them - in Jawi, Arab, Mandarin, Tamil, Bahasa Melayu, English? With soo many languages to choose from, no wonder why we shy shy to teach sex education to them, whats more with AI later on.

2. Primary kids will have brain hemorrhage in their 20's because of these, just because our brain-dead policymakers fancy trendy tech-words that even they themselves think that a calculator are AI-powered abacus. If recent young MP revealed that tobacco lobbyist lobbied MPs heavily, which IT entity lobbied the MPs this time to persuade their brands in school textbooks? It is IMPOSSIBLE to say about AI in textbook without saying ChatGPT, NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, Badul etc - all are commercial entities.

3. How much do I need to save for local IT companies like us to pay & to put our brands in those textbooks? At least when these children grows up to lead GLCs, they'll continue the trend of branded-preferences to choose from, and easier for us to win the 'open tender'.

4. Perhaps it is time to do no. (3) above - at least ministry of education can generate revenue into one of the most feared scenario - privatised education through commercial brandings. And perhaps some MP will say this would be a good idea so that the gov can save more money to build something else. So how much do local companies have to save?

Let's teach our kids the basics - love, eat and sleep. Teach about basic science on why our pupil dilated when we see someone we love in front of us, for example. And why our anus can be open automatically when we fart. None of those are AI related, and it is such a shame if AI being introduced at this early stage.

AI is just a tool. Like a tool, it makes you like a fool, if you depends on it.

I think I allowed myself to believe for a little that a ceasefire in Gaza and across Palestinian occupied territories might happen during Ramadan. Purely for humanity’s sake. For the sake of mothers and fathers, children and grandparents, the disabled, the unborn. 

As we close out the month a week away from Eid, it’s become clearer than ever that even immediate and permanent ceasefires cannot be what we focus on. 

COMPREHENSIVE MILITARY EMBARGO on Israel is the only way forward. 

So far, only 5 countries have suspended arms sales since Israel’s genocide in Gaza. 

They’re listed below, with their female representation in Parliament 

Netherlands 38.67% 
Japan 28% 
Spain 48% 
Belgium 41% 
Canada 30.5% 

I listed the female political and policymaking representation percentages in these 5 countries so we remain cognisant of HOW much of an impact WOMEN have in peacekeeping.

Genocide perpetuates within moral, parochial VACCUUMS which favour the Military-industrial complex.

Israel’s arms supply comes from: 

US - 69% 
Germany - 30% 
Italy - 0.9% 

Meanwhile, the Top 3 countries purchasing weapons from Israel are: 

India - 37% 
Philippines 12% 
U.S. 8.7%

REMEMBER 

- the boycotts ARE working. 

- talking about 🍉 on social media stops genocide from disappearing from mainstream news cycles. 

But, ultimately ceasefires are of NO USE, without COMPREHENSIVE MILITARY EMBARGO.
