-     Independently performed wet chemical synthesis of graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and graphene oxide -ionic liquid composites for supercapacitors.

-     Extensively studied the chemical interaction between the functional groups of ionic liquid and graphene oxide composites using in-situ FTIR in transmission mode. A home built vacuum chamber was built with ports for introducing gases inside the chamber. The sample holder can be heated to perform controlled annealing studies. Additionally, XPS, XRD and Raman  studies were performed to understand the reduction mechanism upon annealing or introduction of gases.

-     Developed the process flow for fabricating 300 nm thick Si solar cell involving the numerous steps such as deposition of poly-Si with LPCVD and PECVD, photolithography, dry/wet etching, metal film deposition with e-gun evaporators in both flat lift-off and planetary orientation, RIE, deep Si etch (ICP-DRIE) and critical point drying.

-      Completely set up the lab scale characterization facility to test the fabricated solar cells. 

-     Developed a method to assemble large area (> 1 cm2) highly packed silica nano-particles (200 nm, 500 nm, 1000 nm) on H-Si, OH-Si surfaces as the nanosphere lithographic mask to produce Si nanopillars (dia. 100, 300 nm) by means for wet metal assisted chemical etching (MACE) or dry Bosch process.

-     Successfully passivated Si surface with self-assembled monolayers (SAM) and anchored quantum dots (QDs) as wavelength tunable absorbing material for QD-Si ultrathin hybrid solar cell application. Also, demonstrated layer by layer assembly of QDs at the air-liquid interface.

- Extensively used Raman (514 and 532 nm) and UV-Vis spectrometers as the main spectroscopic methods to analyze photodynamics of green fluorescent protein using ‘semiconductor on nanometal’ substrates.
- Deposited and analyzed (UV-Vis) Ge and Ag thin film substrates using Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD).
- Used, maintained and ordered lasers and LED light sources.
- Developed an auxiliary mounting unit to focus external LED light source on the substrates.
- Prepared necessary chemical solutions in required concentrations inside a chemical fume hood.
