Olga Kandinskaia (PhD in Economics, 1995) is a full-time resident faculty and Postgraduate Program Director at the CIIM Business School of the University of Limassol, Cyprus. An award-winning case writer and a passionate advocate of innovative teaching methods in business education, such as experiential learning, case method, and blended learning, Olga has become the pioneer at her business school and overall in Cyprus for writing teaching cases about innovative business projects. Her case-writing scholarly activity brought her to the leadership of a top global academic association for case research such as the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). Dr Kandinskaia joined the CIIM Business School in Cyprus in 2002 and is now Associate Professor of Finance and Director of MSc in Green & Digital Management at CIIM, which has transitioned in 2023 to evolve into the (new) University of Limassol. Olga’s expertise is in the areas of Corporate Finance, Management Accounting, Company Valuation, Financial Modeling, and Business Strategy. Since 2015, Olga has written and published in peer-reviewed case journals 14 cases, including 3 cases in the top peer-reviewed journal for cases Case Research Journal (CRJ) by the North American Case Research Association (NACRA), the only case journal distributed via Harvard Business Publishing. Her finance cases teach students advanced financial modeling skills via Excel workshops while at the same time developing students’ critical thinking, helping them understand how the qualitative analyses drive the inputs of the spreadsheet models and how sensitivity analyses lead to better decision-making. As case writer, Olga has received several international awards. In 2017, Olga’s investment appraisal case won the “Outstanding New Case Writer’ award by The Case Centre. In 2018, she received the Jonathan Welch Award by the North American Case Research Association (NACRA) for Best Case in Accounting, Finance and Economics. In 2019, Olga's case at the NACRA annual conference won the Best Case Gold Award. This case was later published in CRJ and in 2022 was awarded with Tate Award as the best case published in CRJ in 2021. In 2021, Olga was elected to the Executive Board of the North American Case Research Association (NACRA). Olga's role in 2022-23 was the VP of Programs & Conference Chair (5-7 Oct, San Antonio, Texas, USA), and her position in 2023-24 is the NACRA President.
