I’m a trained musician with over thirty years of experience as a vocalist, pianist, and songwriter. I’ve shared the stage with Sergio Mendes, Engelbert Humperdinck, Bill Cunliffe, and Harvey Mason. I’ve performed in many places throughout the globe, from the Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl, to the Cape Town Jazz Festival. I’ve even performed with the Hollywood Film Chorale at the Academy Awards. My first real gig was with the band Foreigner at age fourteen. The performance was in my hometown of Miami Gardens, Florida. It was the catalyst for going further in the music industry. A short while later, I completed a Bachelor of Music degree in composition and contemporary writing from Berklee College of Music. I moved from Boston to Los Angeles many years ago in pursuit of “the dream.” Music has been great to me, but my calling is theology and policy-making. I presently teach songwriting, healing through writing, and philosophy of writing on the high school and college levels. I periodically do guest lectures on the intersection of art, ethics, and culture. My goal is to complete my PhD (soon) and do further work in ethics and policy-making. Right now, I prefer to geek out on Bioethics and heuristics. I’m not searching for a position yet because writing is paramount at the moment. However, I’m discerning my next move once my dissertation is done. By the way, I’m in my second of discernment for the holy orders. I’m a restless learner!
