🌍✨ What a Saturday it was! We celebrated International Day for Sports and Development of Peace in style with an electrifying football event! The event which was organized by Global Youth Forum  took place at the University of Nairobi .🏟️🤝 Players from all walks of life came together to showcase the power of sports in promoting peace and unity. 🏆 

The event was to commemorate the International Day for Sports and Peace Development and also aimed to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Teams from various backgrounds came together to celebrate the power of sports in promoting peace and sustainable development.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony speech from Prof. Benson from Global Youth Forum and Philanthropist Dr. Nyambura Githagui, it highlighted the importance of sports in fostering unity and understanding among diverse communities. Participants, including players and spectators, were engaged in discussions and activities focusing on the SDGs, underscoring the role of sports in achieving these global goals.

Throughout the day, teams competed in friendly matches, showcasing their skills and teamwork. The matches were not only competitive but also served as a platform to promote the values of respect, inclusivity, and fair play.

Overall, the football event was a success, bringing people together through sports and highlighting the importance of working towards a more peaceful and sustainable world. It demonstrated the power of sports as a tool for social change and inspired individuals to contribute to a better future for all.

Let's keep the momentum going by raising awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and working towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all!

Co operative Bank partnered with the  
Global Youth Forum during the Inter Campus Football event held recently at the University of Nairobi dubbed FootballForTheGoals.
 
The Bank sponsored all the 17 teams comprising 8 female and 9 male teams each representing a Sustainable Development Goal of their Choice. The goal of the event was to mobilise the football communities within the campuses to develop and implement actions that will contribute to accelerating the 2030 SDG goals.
