Management
Department lead for submarine Temporary Alterations (TEMPALTs) for Los Angeles, Virginia, Seawolf, Ohio, and Columbia class ships. Manage TEMPALT requirements with TEMPALT developer (contractor) throughout a 2-year process. Create statement of work (SOW), personnel qualifications, and cost estimate for contract task order (TO). Manage contract procurements using Technical Instructions. Coordinate contract procurement for independent review of deliverables. Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts to meet NAVSEA requirements. Monitor and control TEMPALTs throughout a multi-year lifecycle. Engage with project sponsors for current and future projects. Direct and manage project work of a 10-person government and contractor team to produce project deliverables. Request cost estimates from contractors and develop government estimates. Monitor risk and issue impact on scope, schedule, and budget. Perform change management of various artifacts. Ensure integration of all required items to deliver value and ensure project success.
Technical
Travel to submarines for inspections prior to or during project planning. Review submarine structural and electrical drawings to determine installation and interface of government furnished equipment. Collaborate with external vendors for quotation and procurement of military specification fasteners and components. Perform configuration management for various engineering artifacts. Collect and refine requirements for projects and/or systems. Apply systems thinking using MBSE tools and techniques to manage the product lifecycle.

Project Manager/ Mechanical Engineer - Submarine temporary alterations (TEMPALT) for Los Angeles, Virginia, Seawolf, and Ohio class submarines. On site liason between government sponsor (Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division) in Bethesda, MD and engineering developer (American Systems) in Norwich, CT. 
Engineering Support:
Support with developing Government Furnished Information (GFI) for TempAlt developer. Research submarine structural and electrical drawings (from ATIS or CITIS) for installation and interface of government furnished equipment. Vendor selection and request quotes for parts and machining. Research military and industry standards/specifications on IHS Standards Expert. Coordinate engineering requirements with metrology and machine shop personnel. Investigate root cause of problems in the fleet (e.g., flooding and corrosion). 

Engineering (Mechanical & Electrical):
3D modeling (Solidworks) and drawing/drafting of mechanical parts and assemblies. O-ring selection and design for piston/cylinder and face seal applications. Design electrical interface boxes using commercial off the shelf (COTS) components such as wiring, cabling, and circular connectors. Create 2D wiring drawings, cabling diagrams, and list of materials (LOM) for shipboard and outboard cables. Provide interface control drawings (ICD).
