journy.io

journy.io is a platform that helps SaaS companies to find product-qualified leads (PQLs) and engage with them.

I wrote about 90% of the platform, going from a proof of concept to a battle tested platform (storing around 2B documents).

I was involved with all aspects: business, infrastructure/cloud, database, backend, frontend and product management while leading a small team of developers.

Used by companies like Railway, Monitr, Luna, ShiftX, Aikido, Introw, EasyOrder, Cargosnap and Crossuite.

Bolt

Bolt is the first online energy platform in Belgium that makes it possible and easy to choose your local, green energy producer yourself.

There was a lot of work to be done in a short amount of time, as solo developer I worked on
- Storing energy producers with their metadata
- Calculating available capacity producers
- Price simulation
- Syncing data to CRM
- Customer onboarding flow
- Displaying producers on map

Clarabridge

Engagor was acquired by Clarabridge in 2015.
Clarabridge was acquired by Qualtrics in 2021.

Clarabridge Engage is a customer engagement and insights platform for social brands and enterprises. The software is used by leading companies such as Ikea, Nintendo, KitchenAid and the European Parliament. 💬

In the codebase of Clarabridge Engage I've
- introduced ESLint to enforce best practices, avoid unused variables, etc.
- introduced Jasmine to test crucial JavaScript frontend code.
- introduced acceptance tests using puppeteer to protect against regressions. It loads the most important views of the application and verifies that everything works as expected.
- deleted more code than anyone in the team (more than 1 000 000 deletions).
- refactored a lot of legacy code to ease future changes, improve performance and/or make the code more readable/understandable.
- introduced EditorConfig to make sure every developer uses the same indentation and line endings for each type of file.
- saved a lot of developer time by eliminating rebuilds of unchanged files.
- reduced the overall duration of the PHPUnit test suite. This resulted in faster feedback on pull requests (GitHub status checks).
