I use this tool every day. Between it and Gemini, they are pulling me away from the Msft ecosystem one workload at a time. 

As an ex-Microsoftee and long-time advocate, Google has a very hard climb to win me over. But they are doing it with quality and user experience. 

I’ve worked ~20 hours between 5pm Friday and now (9am Sunday). Being a founder isn’t for the lazy. And anyone seeking “work-life balance” need not apply. 

Having tools that improve the quality and quantity of my work is essential. For me, many of my go-tos are AI tools. 

A few of the ones I use daily:

Google Notebook LM - sales (find patterns you don’t see), learning (load techie research and use the interactive podcast feature to summarize it and verbally ask it questions), mine my own content (I’ve written piles of blogs/posts/book that I can repurpose. I also use it to check that my voice is consistent and look for evolving thought patterns across my insights - yep, things move so fast in my world that the AI finds emerging patterns in my thinking before I notice them!)

Claude - the context window is super annoying but quality is excellent. I’m just scratching the surface using their new Skills capabilities. Sean Eisenstein on my team is the thought leader here and he’s uncovering extensive opportunities to improve our $/headcount. 

Google Gemini - I love this tool for analysis work. I consistently use many tools, and they leapfrog one another frequently (I literally try multiple tools on the same project from one day to the next as the results can be influenced by many factors), but I can create useful insights in partnership with this one on most occasions. I helped a CIO build a deep analysis on Saturday morning in about an hour. She then got to spend the rest of her day with family instead of using old school tactics that would have taken all weekend.

I just got hands-on with Google’s new Pomelli tool for brand asset creation this weekend. Using just our website URL, I was able to create on brand campaigns in about 20 minutes. I don’t do any outbound sales, but it would be great for social media and event ads. 

I also found a new iOS app yesterday called Persona that makes me look camera-ready when I am not 🤣 for videos. I’ll try that out and post here this week. 

If you haven’t changed your daily workflow (not using AI tools extensively), you’re underperforming against your own potential.

➡️ 8x bigger brain (1 million token context window) - You can now throw in entire document collections without worrying about hitting limits. That market research report, competitive analysis, industry white papers, and your company's strategic docs? All at once. 

➡️ It actually remembers your conversations (6x longer memory) -  Notice how AI tools get amnesia after a while? Not anymore. You can have a real working relationship with this thing. Monday's deep dive into Q4 GTM strategy builds into Wednesday's marketing  analysis, which informs Friday's board presentation. Intense, right? Useful? Absolutely.

➡️  It now becomes whoever you need (custom goals feature) - This gets really, really interesting. You can literally tell it how to think. Need someone to brutally challenge every assumption in your business plan like a skeptical investor would? Done. Want a creative strategist who focuses only on actionable next steps? Yes! 🤗 Need it to act like a critical academic peer reviewer before you submit that thesis? Just say so. 

➡️ And, finally, It digs deeper, automatically -  NotebookLM explore your sources from multiple angles before answering. It's finding connections between documents you didn't even think to look for. That offhand comment in the CFO's email might actually connect to the supply chain issue in last quarter's operations report. You wouldn't have found that. It does.
