Although retired, Pamela Miller remains active in the nonprofit community and gift planning profession as a volunteer and advocate. Pamela is a member of several nonprofit organizations, including the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (NACGP), as well as its Leadership Institute and the Mid-America Charitable Gift Planners council (past president). Memberships also include the Association of Fundraising Professionals and its Greater Kansas City Chapter (former board member and committee chair), Nonprofit Connect, the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement–Missouri/Kansas Chapter. She is a member of Children’s Mercy’s Planned Giving Council and KC Rep's Planned Giving Advisory Council. As a gift planning officer for Children’s Mercy and the PKD Foundation, Pamela provided overall guidance and management of the estate gift planning program to assist donors to not only meet their own personal and financial goals, but also realize their dreams for their family and their communities. Pam also is experienced in prospect and development research. Pam served as Director of Major Gifts at William Jewell College, Senior Development Director at Rockhurst University, Director of Major Gifts for the Kansas University Endowment Association at the KU Medical Center, and as Associate National Director of Development for the national office of Camp Fire. In addition, she has several years of experience in marketing financial services to nonprofit organizations and employee benefit programs. She is an Inaugural Member of the Northland Giving Circle, charter member of the NACGP Legacy Circle, past president of the Rockhurst University Alumni Board of Directors, and an alumna of Centurions, the leadership program of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City. Among numerous honors, Pamela was named the 1978 Missouri Truman Scholar; and a recipient of the 2020 Legacy Partnership Award by AFPKC and MACGP, the Emeritus Honor by MACGP, and the 2023 Rockhurst University St. Ignatius Alumni Award; and a 2022 inductee of the North Kansas City High School Alumni Hall of Fame.
