Whataburger

Served as the Senior Vice-President of HR & Brand Culture and was responsible for developing comprehensive strategies to move the business forward in the areas of Recruiting, Retention, Total Rewards, and Brand Communications & Culture.  In a pandemic year and in the midst of a national labor shortage, applications and hires were at an all-time high for the company compared to the last three years.  Overall, hiring during quarters 1 and 2 in 2021 outpaced the entire year of 2019 and 2020. The all-new Employer Brand Campaign not only yielded 3 billion media impressions and thousands of new hires, but it also successfully elevated the perception of the brand as an employer in the QSR industry. The campaign highlighted the work of the Total Rewards Team who in 2021, developed a suite of new benefits and rolled out a new Incentive Plan for Restaurant Operations that provided tremendous potential and drove outstanding performance.

Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Brand Culture

Led a team of 200 people to deliver on all facets of HR & Brand Communication for a $4B beloved restaurant brand.  This included Talent Development, Workforce Planning, Recruiting, and Total Rewards to support nearly 50,000 employees.  These efforts were complemented by a best-in-class Corporate Communications strategy that incorporated a PR/Marketing approach and elevated the overall impact of all HR initiatives and programs.

Vice President, Human Resources & Brand Culture

Connected with customers and family members through a well-orchestrated Customer Engagement and Brand Communication strategy aligned to the vision, mission, and goals of Whataburger Restaurants. Accountable for aligning the strategic efforts related to the digital experience, including the digital newsroom, mobile app, and online experience.  Also responsible for family member and customer communication, customer care, brand content, meeting & event planning, media & community relations, social media, and multimedia production.  In this role, served on the company's Management Leadership Team as well as its Strategy Council.  This position was a strategic business partner directly responsible for all things Customer Engagement and Brand Communications at Whataburger.

Vice President of Customer Engagement/Digital & Brand Communication

Developed and implemented the Corporate Communication strategy for Whataburger Restaurants and aligned all efforts related to Internal Communications, Meeting & Event Planning, Media & Community Relations, Social Media and Multimedia Production. Served on the Management Leadership Team and Strategy Council for the company.

Vice President,  Corporate Communications

Served as a strategic business partner directly responsible for the work of the Communications team.  Provided leadership and direction in creating comprehensive communication strategies to advance the company’s mission, vision, and goals while building a culture that fostered pride in the work, care for each other, and a love for serving customers. Conceptualized, planned, and implemented communications processes and protocols that strengthened the company’s capacity to effectively inform internal and external stakeholders.  Ensured communication systems were in place to drive alignment and engagement across all operational levels in the Home Office, Support System, and Restaurants.  Provided cultural guidance and direction to senior leadership regarding company decisions, projects, and policies and served as a member of the Management Leadership Team (MLT) which consisted of approximately 30 of the company's top leaders.
