I grew up in a family that experienced extreme highs and lows: my parents migrated from India to the U.S. in 1980, built a multi-million dollar business, lost it all in a bankruptcy, and eventually sought new opportunities in post-communist Bulgaria. This journey through uncertainty sparked my own personal transformation, ultimately leading me to live as a monk for 15 years in New York City.

In 2014, I left the monastic life to share the powerful lessons I learned about mindfulness, resilience, and leadership. Since then, I have been speaking at organizations and conferences around the world, helping leaders and teams navigate change, build positive work cultures, and thrive during stressful times.

After migrating to the United States from India, in 1980, my parents went from having nothing to establishing a multi-million dollar jewelry business in Los Angeles. Due to a fire at our manufacturing plant, our business shut down and we went completely broke. 

Looking to get back on our feet, we adventured out to post-communist Bulgaria, in 1992, seeking new business opportunities. After a couple of years in a very unstable environment, we came back to the East coast of the U.S. 

Wanting to discover my purpose and meaning of life, I traveled to India to explore life as a monk. This life of mindfulness, reflection and service helped me discover my calling so I spent 15 years as a monk in New York City giving hundreds of talks on college campuses around the country.

In 2014, I left behind the robes and became a keynote speaker to many Fortune 100 and 500 companies on resilience, mindfulness and well-being and how organizations can create a positive and mindful workplace culture which can improve employee well-being, retention, and productivity.
