I support two great teams in digital front to improve Online shopping experience for Sainsbury’s customers.

My role and achievements:

●	Facilitate Agile/Scrum events – sprint planning; daily stand-up; product backlog refinement; sprint review and sprint retrospective.
●	Supported teams to transition from good to great though experimenting new ways of knowing each other beyond our job titles.
●	Coached teams on using best Agile and Development practices such as TDD, Pair programming, Testing Automation along with regular Inspection and Adaptation to constantly learn and improve software development process.
●	Be a well-being champion for both my teams and other wider digital teams to support well-being in these covid times to ensure the team remain happy and focused.
●	Mentored a Test Engineer who aspired to be a Scrum Master and has made huge improvements.
●	Active member of Agile Community of Practice within Sainsburys.
●	Managed to get both teams become vision/goal focused rather than velocity focused. This helped teams look at a bigger picture (Systems Thinking) and focus on customer problems we are trying to solve.
●	Created a Fun culture by introducing different types of Daily stand ups, fortnightly Team fun time etc.
●	Collecting regular feedback from my teams and others to ensure I regularly inspect how I work and adapt better ways to perform my role.
●	Supporting Product Owners manage product backlog to keep it goal and vision focused and keep it relevant and healthy.
●	Supporting wider digital teams in various session such as Retro, Planning, Feedback session etc.

I looked after a FTSE 100 client providing web solution services for 2,500 websites across the UK and Asia

●	Facilitate agile/Scrum events – sprint planning; daily stand-up; product backlog refinement; sprint review and sprint retrospective
●	Steer Development Team to optimise their use of Scrum – this is achieved by providing coaching to enhance their self-organising ability; to reflect on their work as a team; to promote a no blame culture and facilitate conversations to find the best possible solutions
●	Support team productivity by removing impediments (outside the control of the team’s capability) and interruptions that hinder the Development Team’s productivity
●	Lead and coach the business on techniques of improving story writing, enhancing shared understanding and vision and requirements gathering
●	Collaborate with the Product Owner and customers to prioritise and validate requirements
●	Help develop and maintain the product backlog by collaborating with members of Business and Development team
●	Work with business management to understand the vision of the product and develop a software release plan
●	Work collaboratively with Client Services and DevOps to implement elements of the Scrum framework to ensure continuous improvement and increased productivity
●	Monitor the development progress throughout each sprint to identify any potential risks and help develop a mitigation plan to resolve potential issues
●	Manage a variety of projects from inception to completion, identify and analyse core requirements and key features of projects
●	Provide weekly progress metrics to customers; highlight risks to key deliverables

When I joined, I was responsible for implementing an Agile culture in the organisation. Learning and implementing Scrum to support the development of new products and improve client collaboration and satisfaction. This process has certainly helped me become a good Scrum Master as I was required to take the teams through the learning states of Shu-Ha-Ri.

In this role, I was first introduced to Agile and I started exploring various ways to improve project performance. I was able to witness immediate success when I changed my style from command and control to autonomy driven.

This success and other ones made helped me decide how I would shape my career and my Agile journey began. After going through various blogs, posts, articles, I realised that Agile is the way for me and would suit my style of working.

I was hired as a Project Manager for a Title project as a part of overall Mortgage processing. We were required to contact various county offices to ensure we get the clear title of properties being bought. I started with 2 staff and gradually increased to 25 in six month’s time raising company revenue from £20,000 to £250,000.

I’m an excellent Scrum Master and love working with the diversity of technical and business teams.

I am deeply passionate about product development, Scrum and Servant Leadership. People are at the heart of what I do and I believe that everyone is capable of achieving great things if you give them the right environment and tools. I have been working with several Agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, DevOps etc. along with some great Engineering practices such as Pair/Mob programming, TDD, Test Automation etc.

Above all, I am a people person and as a servant leader I am driven by helping others succeed in what they do, driving successful scrum teams and creating great products. I strive to create an environment surrounded by the Scrum values of focus, respect, openness, courage and commitment.

I always start with "WHY" to understand the need and desired outcome for product development. This approach helps me understand the Business and Product Owner's vision clearly and in turn, enables my team to embrace the vision, which often results in beautiful and engaging products.

My aspiration is to be the ultimate Scrum Master - so good that I lead my team and PO to become self-sufficient so that they no longer need me.
