I’m one of the UK’s leading inspirational speakers on addiction. My signature presentation, "Hiding Addiction In The Workplace," is designed to educate employees about the challenges of alcohol and substance misuse in the workplace. "Doctors Told Me I'd Be Dead By Christmas" I’m a recovering alcoholic, and my turning point came on July 29, 2019. That morning, I realised the damage my drinking and drug use had done to my family and my career. Something broke inside me after a moment with my daughter at 8am changed my life, and I surrendered to being an addict and went to Rehab at the Priory Woodbourne in Birmingham for six weeks. Having worked for some of the biggest companies in the UK, I’ve seen first hand how people hide their addiction, covering it up from their families, friends and colleagues. Alcoholism and addiction is progressive and can happen to anybody from any work of life. While many addiction stories focus on employees losing their jobs, we want to stress the importance of speaking up. If you are struggling, it’s vital to come forward. We work with companies who want to support their workers when they open up about their personal challenges. I focus on the dangers of coming to work under the influence and the risks you create for yourself and your colleagues by hiding your problem.
