As the elected Sheriff of Norfolk County, MA, I have over three years of experience in overseeing and managing the public safety and security of one of the most populous and diverse counties in the state. I am responsible for the administration and operation of the county jail and corrections facility, the civil process division, and the community reentry center. I lead and support various initiatives and programs that aim to reduce recidivism, enhance reentry, and promote rehabilitation among the incarcerated population. In addition to my public safety role, I am also an entrepreneur, a real estate investor, and a speaker. I have over eight years of experience in running my own real estate investment firm and brokerage, McDermott Strategic Enterprises LLC, where I focus on purchasing distressed properties, rehabbing them into marketable and desirable homes, and providing affordable housing solutions. I also serve as a coach and mentor to real estate professionals at all levels of expertise looking to enhance their skills in real estate. I also leverage my expertise in judicial administration, public safety, and real estate to speak at various events and conferences on topics related to real estate, criminal justice, law enforcement, and public policy.
