I am an experienced financial advice professional who specialises in developing policy, process, and technology solutions that empower advisers to do more. I am best known for my fresh, innovative approach to solving complex problems and delivering outcomes that are simple to engage. My passion is making advice more engaging and enabling advisers to focus on doing what they do best. I have a Bachelor of Business, Diploma of Financial Services and several accreditations. Since 2005 I have worked across the advice journey including support, paraplanning and adviser roles, before bringing my skills to the licensee level as part of the Aon Financial Advice leadership. My key skills include management of advice technology, advice documents, policy development, risk management and project management. In the work I do, I see advice organisations experiencing three main problems: 1) Advice experiences that do not align with modern client expectations; 2) Inadequate adoption of technology due to patchwork implementation or poor user experience design; and 3) Failure to continuously examine existing processes and ask ‘Why?’ By providing a design-thinking client centric approach to policy, coupled with strong technology capability, I help advice organisations to: 1) Reduce Client Effort Scores through simplified processes and engagement tools; 2) Drive efficiencies through automating, offshoring/outsourcing and streamlining back-office process/systems; and 3) Reduce advice compliance risk through improved client engagement; adviser adherence and record keeping. The ultimate result is a win for all parties to the advice process – clients enjoy more of the advice process, advisers are more efficient and satisfied, and compliance have improved confidence. My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing advisers take themselves away from things that they don’t enjoy and don’t add value to clients, and get to focus on doing what they do best: Helping people realise their goals.
