Just broke down an outstanding landing page from ARMRA, a rising brand in health and fitness. 

Here are my 6 takeaways:

1. Listicle Format: ARMRA uses a compelling listicle headline to address customer pain points, like clutter and cost.

2. Strategic CTAs: Place clear and compelling call-to-action buttons throughout your page for easy navigation and conversion.

3. Compelling Copy: Use powerful and relatable phrases, like Armra's "liquid gold" and "your body's armor," to simplify complex concepts and resonate with a broad audience.

4. Social Proof: Showcase impressive stats and reviews to build trust and credibility.

5. Authority: Mention expert endorsements or certifications to add credibility.

6. Simplify Choices: While options can be good, too many might overwhelm customers. Keep it simple and direct.

2 years ago we attempted to bootstrap an influencer-led brand and it failed.

Here's what you should know before partnering with influencers.

(From someone who lost $100,000 on it)

With the rise of PRIME, Feastables and other brands- 

There is a ton of buzz around creator-led brands.

First - you must have a clear understanding of the influencer's sales ability.

Likes and followers do not equal conversions. Are they on the rise or have they already peaked?

Request historical collaborations and partnerships - how have they sold in the past?

Second - have they started a brand of there own before?

Many influencers try to start a brand and it fails or barely scales. 

This is a clear indicator that they are not the best fit. 

Third - have clear expectations for the influencer's involvement. 

Are they just a face or do they actually have roles & responsibilities.

Get this in writing and signed by all parties. 

Fourth - start small and slow.

We got excited and purchased too much inventory that outpaced demand. 

This left us sitting on units. 

Fifth - have a strict financial plan.

In hindsight, I am obviously glad we bootstrapped it but we underestimated the financial need to actually scale. 

We quickly realized that we could not solely rely on influencer traffic. 

If I were to do it today, I would set aside a budget for social paid advertising.

Lastly - choose a good product to sell. 

Jumping into a commoditized space is an uphill battle. 

Partner with influencers with niche interests, with niche problems and sell a product specific to that demo.

I get this all the time. 

In the DMs, through email and on calls. 

Here's why I can never say for certain:

I know nothing about your brand. 

When serving brands, we take a results driven approach and most of it boils down to the revenue we drive.

We have some brands paying us $2,000/month and others spending $14,000+/month (because we get them great results!). 

I always take a white glove approach with every brand we bring on.

I tried the "one-size-fits-all" method and it never worked.

Every brand is different. 

Some are sitting on millions, others are bootstrapping. 

Some want to scale hard and aggressive, others want to sustainably grow. 

Some want every service, others just want to dial in just their email marketing.

That is why a call (or two) is required-

I take a deep dive into your metrics and goals. 

If you are already investing heavily into marketing, we always offer a complimentary full-funnel audit.

If you bring your car to the auto-shop, you would want them to inspect before working on it, right?

Same goes with your e-commerce brand.

Flew home to Boston this week. 

Read half of this book on the way and it put things into perspective.

It’s called “The Hard Thing About Hard Things” by Ben Harowitz.

After reading so many self help and business books - it’s refreshing to read about the hard.

Because there is no simple answer to hard things.

If you’re like me and over reading the same inspirational, positive business books, I definitely recommend this one.

If there is one thing I consistently see amongst brands I speak with is this:

Failure to map out their customer journey.

Oftentimes, it’s less organized the BIGGER the brand. 

7 & 8-figure brands tend to have a bunch of channels running:

Paid Advertising
Email Marketing
Organic Content
Influencers
SMS
Etc.

But they do not blend these channels together to create a clear path for the customer.

How do you go about mapping out the customer journey?

I recommend using a flowchart, like Miro or Excalidraw. 

Map out the top of the funnel, the middle of the funnel, the bottom of the funnel. 

Think about how your messaging would change throughout each step of the journey. 

For example, a front-end, no-brainer offer should only be pushed to a cold audience to acquire customers. 

With your current customers, are you nurturing and making them feel a part of your community? 

Think about how you interact with people in real life. 

First, you have to introduce yourself and kick off the relationship. 

Overtime, you nurture that relationship, maybe become lifelong friends. 

With e-commerce marketing, we are fostering relationships at scale. 

Make sure you map out your customer journey then audit your messaging.

Many e-commerce brands make this mistake with their email marketing:

❌ Nonstop promotions and sales. 

Instead, try this email marketing angle: 

✅ Lead with education. 

Customers will not buy your product because they are uneducated and have objections. 

Through this structure, you give value while also giving your reader context to take out their credit card. 

For example, let's say I am running a fictional Cold Plunge brand.

Let's call it "Iced Out Plunges."

Instead of constantly sending promotions and sales to their inbox, I will lead with education. 

First, start with research. 

Take a deep dive into podcasts, articles and studies and find sources to cite. 

(This feels like a high school essay, I know)

Then, find the main points you would like to focus on. 

Bonus points if you can cite authoritative figures like PHDs and professionals. 

Third, write your headline:

Ex. 6 Reasons Andrew Huberman Advocates for Cold Exposure to Transform Your Life

Then, dive into the research but make it easy to read and in the voice of your brand. 

With many health and fitness brands, I like sending educational emails on a weekly basis. 

There is always something to teach and customers will actually find value!

Cheeky copywriting hack for CPG brands:

Instead of saying "Loved by 1,000 Customers" do this:

Let's say you have received 1,000 orders of your product. 

Then take the number of servings in each product- 

Let's say it's 50 servings.

Quick math, 50 * 1,000 = 50,000. 

Now change the copy to "Over 50 Thousand Scoops Sold"

Ethical way of increasing that number and boosting social proof!

$7,065 in 30 Days with 3 Flows → $16,389 in 22 Days with 1 Flow

Previous agency was a well-known team you probably know of. 

Here's how we did it:

Step 1: Re-structure the Flows

With some clients, we can build off of what is already in place. 

For this, we had to do a rebuild because they had a Frankenstein of random flows. 

So we cleaned that up and built 1 streamlined Welcome Series flow. 

Step 2: Built a Customer Journey

Before, all the emails were discounts and sales. 

Now we take customers through a full journey of brand story, authority and social proof.

Step 3: Improve Signup Form

In 3 months, the previous signup form gained 1,205 subscribers. 

Our new signup form gained 1,299 subscribers in less than 30 days.

Step 4: Constant A/B Tests

Do not get it twisted, we want to drive even more sales from this. 

That is why we constantly split-test and revamp our flow. 

This will ensure we are constantly improving.

Last weekend I took the time to set up TikTok shop.

I didn't do it alone (Thankfully)

I joined the E-Commerce Growth Track skool when they originally launched knowing I could utilize some of the value they were presenting.

Patrick O'Driscoll & Canon Roeder have a valuable thing going on over there and I'm loving what they are doing.

If you're a DTC founder/owner/operator, it may be worth looking into joining.

It's easy to over complicate things when marketing your brand. 

I recommend keeping it simple. 

Below is a simple, yet effective structure for an email welcome flow. 

It's straight forward and direct, guiding customers through a journey.

Trigger: When someone subscribes to the newsletter list. 

Conditional Split: Can Receive SMS

Left side represents those who opted into SMS, the right is just email subscribers.

Notice how it's not ALL sales and discounts. 

We want a new subscriber to have a sense of urgency to buy but also educate and provide value.

This is executed through:

- Telling the brand story
- Showcasing best sellers
- Appealing to authority/social proof
