There are a few things I hope that viewers of this profile will bear in mind while reflecting on what may look like the juggling of many creative projects. Indeed, it is. In The Creativity Research Handbook, Vol. 2, creativity researchers Howard Gruber and Sara Davis share their findings on how the most creative people simultaneously work on multiple projects at different stages of completion. They call this tendency, a “network of enterprises” and they have argued that it is so common among creative people that it should be recognized as standard practice. 

Gruber and Davis see four primary benefits: Multiple projects cross-pollinate; Variety is the spice of creativity; We are unconsciously processing another project while we are focused on one; Every project provides a break or diversion from the others.

On reflection, I realize I have always worked this way, so I am trying to capture my current network of enterprises on this profile.

🧠 My daily brain dump

🌞 This morning practice clears my mind for daily meditation. I dump all the things on paper so that when I close my eyes and gaze into the field of infinite possibility, there is quiet, peace, and stillness. Try it. The mental spaciousness created is so soothing.

🌕 I am taking another News + Socials sabbatical from full moon to full moon, starting tomorrow. The one in December was cathartic in all the good ways. Tomorrow is a Full Moon Eclipse in Virgo - a perfect time for releasing and creating spaciousness. Using Nature’s clock of sun and moon brings a healing flow and rhythm to my rather intense life in this extremely intense time.
I’ll be immersing myself in the All Too Human Symposium prep, book writing, my Patreon, teaching, uni work, caregiving, and people IRL. Take good care and be well, my friends.
