The Corundum Group

The Corundum Group (TCG), a SEC regulated Registered Investment Advisor, was formed in 1992 to serve as the family office for certain descendants of the founder of the 3M Company.  From that beginning Corundum went on to serve additional 3M families and additional select clients.  The origin of the name comes from 3M’s mining operations whereby corundum was used as an abrasive due to the extreme hardness of the gem.  Best known corundum gems are rubies and sapphires.
Corundum Partners, Inc., (CPI) was formed in 1995 to serve the Managing Member or General Partners of the entities TCG was creating to serve its clients.  Today CPI serves as the product creation and syndication arm of Corundum.  CPI is part of Bushwood Holdings, Inc., today.
In 2002 Corundum opened Corundum Trust Company (CTC).  Based in Sioux Falls, SD, CTC is a private trust serving the trust needs of TCG’s trust customers. 
Central Bancorp, Inc., (CBI) was formed in 2006 as a bank holding company.  The holding company owns Farmers & Stockmens Bank of Clayton, New Mexico and TCG.  Central Bank & Trust is a branch of Farmers.  Our banks are state chartered and have the FDIC as their primary regulator.  CB&T Mortgage is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Farmers.
Our foot print also includes CB Insurance, a property and casualty insurer and Capstone Title, both of which are owned by our affiliate Bushwood Holdings.
