My journey began in 2005 when I was launching my first startup, ShipServ, a global shipping e-commerce pioneer. Here, I learned firsthand the challenges and rewards of scaling a business. As I worked to grow the business, I faced an overwhelming challenge: balancing the demands of a growing company with my responsibilities as a husband and father. Despite my best efforts, I constantly felt torn between my business ambitions and my desire to be present for my family. After several unsuccessful attempts to hire an executive assistant in London, I turned to remote support, hiring an assistant from the Philippines, where ShipServ had a large back-office operation. This decision was a game-changer. My assistant, Sigrid, managed my work and private life with unparalleled competence and continued to do so even when she had to relocate to a rural area. Her dedication and reliability inspired me to think bigger: Could there be a way to connect busy professionals in developed countries with talented individuals in regions often overlooked by the global job market? In 2017, I founded MySigrid, a company built on the belief that business success should not come at the cost of personal well-being or family life. MySigrid offers world-class, AI-assisted remote staffing solutions, focusing on creating meaningful, stable jobs in developing countries while helping entrepreneurs and executives reclaim their time and focus on what truly matters.
