"PRIDE… Empowering or Limiting?"

Pride, a complex and often debated trait, is deeply ingrained within the fabric of human nature. While some view pride as a positive attribute, synonymous with confidence and self-assurance, others perceive it as a negative quality, associated with arrogance and hubris. So, is pride truly a virtue or a vice?

Reflecting on my journey, I’ve grappled with the concept of pride, wavering between viewing it as a badge of honor and recognizing its detrimental effects on my life. From a young age, I’ve carried the weight of pride like a shield, believing it to be a symbol of strength and resilience. However, as time passed, I began to realize the toll that unchecked pride can take on one’s well-being and relationships.

As the saying goes, “Pride goes before a fall.” There’s no denying that pride can be empowering. It instills a sense of confidence and self-assurance, propelling us forward in pursuit of our goals. For much of my life, I reveled in the feeling of pride, relishing in the belief that I could conquer any obstacle on my own. I saw vulnerability as a weakness, fearing that revealing my flaws and insecurities would expose me to judgment and rejection.

But as I navigated through life’s challenges, I learned that pride is a double-edged sword—it can boost your confidence or blind you to your own shortcomings. And I also came to understand the limitations of my pride. It became apparent that my unwillingness to ask for help or show vulnerability was isolating me from meaningful connections and hindering my personal growth. I realized that true strength lies not in stoicism, but in the courage to embrace vulnerability and seek support from others.

In my journey of self-discovery, I’ve learned that pride, when left unchecked, can breed arrogance and stubbornness. It blinds us to our own shortcomings and inhibits our ability to empathize with others. It erects walls instead of bridges, preventing authentic connections and fostering a sense of isolation.

However, I’ve also come to appreciate that pride, when tempered with humility and self-awareness, can be a positive force for growth and self-improvement. It’s about finding the balance between acknowledging our strengths and weaknesses.

Ultimately, whether pride is deemed “good” or “bad” depends on how it is wielded and expressed. When cultivated with humility and empathy, pride can be a source of inner strength and resilience.

"The purpose of life is a life of purpose."

Do you know your purpose? 

A lot of people question that and are desperate to find the right answer. 

Discovering our purpose is like embarking on a journey to find the treasure buried deep within us. It's about figuring out what makes us truly happy and fulfilled.

In a world where everyone seems to have their own idea of what we should be doing, it's easy to lose sight of what really matters to us. But our purpose isn't some distant destination—it's a feeling we get when we're living in tune with our values and passions.

As the saying goes, "The purpose of life is a life of purpose." When we align our actions with what truly matters to us, we experience a sense of deep satisfaction and fulfillment.

Living our purpose isn't about following someone else's script; it's about being true to ourselves. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

Our purpose isn't set in stone; it evolves as we do. Just as the seasons change, so too do our desires and aspirations. And that's okay. As long as we're true to ourselves, we're on the right path.

So, instead of searching for our purpose outside of ourselves, let's look within. As the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." Let's take that first step toward living a life of purpose and fulfillment, guided by the light of our own truth.

“The Journey to Self-Embrace” 🩷


In a world constantly buzzing with noise and expectations, finding genuine happiness can feel like an elusive quest. But what if the key to unlocking that elusive happiness lies within ourselves?

Author Mandy Hale once remarked, “Becoming best friends with yourself is a lifelong journey worth taking.” It’s a profound notion that challenges us to embrace every aspect of who we are, flaws and all. Being authentic isn't just a goal we aim for every now and then. It's more like a habit we practice every day. It's about being real and honest, even when it's tough. Instead of hiding behind masks that society expects us to wear, we choose to be ourselves, flaws and all. So, being authentic isn't just something we strive for once in a while, it's something we do every single day.

I regularly feel gentle waves of J.O.M.O (the Joy Of Missing Out) when I decline attending popular events with people I can’t be fucked wasting my time playing pretend with. These days experiencing F.O.M.O (the Fear Of Missing Out) is thankfully a thing of the past. May feelings of more J.O.M.O gently emerge in your life gifting you with the priceless emotional wealth, of inner peace …  free from no longer needing to waste time and money putting up with insincere party people, excessive booze, bullshit, superficial approval and external noise. 

Choosing authenticity over popularity will boost your Emotional Fitness without a doubt. As Dr. Seuss famously said, "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” But perhaps the most empowering choice we can make is to prioritize authenticity over popularity, urging us to be unapologetically ourselves, knowing that those who truly matter will accept us for who we are.

So, as you step into this Sunday, may it be filled with genuine connections, self-discovery, and the joy of embracing your true essence.Wishing you all the joy of living authentically and experiencing the boundless happiness that comes with being true to yourself.
