You thought you were organized, but 18 months into the project, everyone is frustrated. People’s jobs, instead of becoming easier, have become harder. There are more steps. More processes. Companies do three things: 1) Think the project alone will solve your problems 2) misunderstand how people are integral to any project’s success 3) fail to carefully consider current business processes and desired outcomes All are huge mistakes. Hiring more people to get your processes completed is NOT a solution. More folks building spreadsheet after spreadsheet is not the way. Neither is buying a software solution, provide little training, and expect your processes to be dramatically improved overnight.
