That means fast collection and direct transport to the destination. Our business is built on legendary customer service. I mean it. 15 years ago, it saved my career. I was made redundant on a Friday morning in 2008, just as the credit crunch hit Britain. The courier company who’d headhunted me ceased trading overnight. “Sorry Paul, there’s nothing we can do.” Perhaps you know that feeling – like a punch in the gut. I’d just bought a new house, and was thinking about how I’d break this rubbish news to my partner. But, it’s amazing what you can do in the face of adversity. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, which has brought challenge and growth in equal measure. I couldn’t walk until I was six, but the hardest thing growing up in the 80s was the lack of expectation. No one expected much from me. That was all the motivation I needed. Back to 2008. After I got my gut punch, I called a couple of customers to let them know we couldn’t serve them any more. One of them had an answer ready... “Paul. We don’t care who you represent. Start your own business and we’ll be your first customer.” I founded Proactive Despatch, three days later. 15 years later we deliver our service with honesty, integrity and unparalleled communication.
