I'm a lawyer in the IP field with more than 12 years of experience, in the Latin American region. I advise in the prosecution and legal strategies in an international practice, in coordination with local firms. In these countries I also advise on litigation actions on an administrative, civil and criminal level such as objections, oppositions, appeals, unfair competition, trademark infringement and custom border measures. I have also assisted clients in technology transfer contracts, trade secrets and copyright related agreements. I am a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), where I have been appointed as Co-Chair of the Judicial and Administrative Trademark Litigation subcommittee for the 2024-2025 term. I led the Preliminary Injunctions Task Force on 2022-2023 term. I have also participated in the Internet Committee during 2018-2020. From 2018 to 2021 I taught the Intellectual Property class at Galileo University of Guatemala, in the Customs Administration and International Commerce bachelor’s degree. I am a candidate for the Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Innovation in the San Andres University from Argentina in partnership with WIPO, Geneva (2022). I have been an active member of the IP Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Guatemala (AMCHAM), coordinating the sensitization sub-committee with the objective of teaching IP for kids and young adults in Guatemala (2017-2021).
