As a member of the Executive team, I was able to take my considerable cloud computing and hosted desktop experience and build an entire product from the ground up within 3 months with an amazing engineering team at my disposal. Based on the AWS infrastructure we developed a high-performance and highly scaleabale platform targeted at corporate and enterprise customers and partners.
I also quickly became our in-house Application Virtualization expert and was responsible for all sequencing and publishing of Applications within the SOLV environment using App-V. I was responsible for the evaluation and ultimate upgrade implementation from APP-V 4.6 to 5.0. I also assisted in automating the publishing of apps using our newly developed SOLV Control panel.
I conducted all customer and partner product demos and became a heavily relied on sales resource to ensure our product was successfully presented and deals were closed.

Cloudspace was formed to act as a vehicle for developing joint ventures between international tech companies and establishing their Australian subsidiaries.

Nivio

From nivio Australia, I decided to accept a position with the newly created corporate headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. I was the VP of Product & Implementation where I was responsible for the Product planning, design and development. I also owned and managed the Product Roadmap for all 5 global regions, US, UK, EMEA, AUS and India.
I conducted all customer and partner product demonstrations on sales calls as well as trade shows and exhibits mainly in the US (Macworld, WPC, Hosting Summit) and Europe (MWC).
I worked closely with the Engineering team to ensure the product development was directly meeting customer and target market requirements. From Aug 2011 - April 2012 I was also acting VP of Engineering along with my VP Product responsibilities. I oversaw our US and India based Engineering team of close to 100 engineers, administrators and designers. During this time, I implemented Agile methodologies and Sprints.
I continually evaluated technology providers and successfully integrated many of those technologies, that were not necessarily built for DaaS, such as zero client acceleration technology, the first of its kind for a Hosted Desktop service provider. I also secured the use of a zero-install HTML5 client which enabled access from any device with an HTML5 compatible browser.
One of the main projects I was responsible for was moving from owned infrastructure to the public cloud, first with Rackspace and then with AWS.
In Jan 2012, nivio successfully launched our US product at Macworld 2012 and quickly achieved over 15,000 registrations and a plethora of positive press coverage. 
I was instrumental in securing a deal as one of the Google Drive launch partners with a service that provided access to rented productivity applications like MS Office directly from the Google Drive interface.
My work on developing the product, integrated technologies and patent research was key in securing investment at $100M valuation.

I started with nivio as a co-founder of the Australian based joint venture, nivio Australia Pty. Ltd. I was responsible for building the Australian version of the product and also the underlying Data Center infrastructure at the Polaris data Center in Brisbane. 
I was responsible for the UI/UX of the product as well billing system design and gateway integration. I worked with the sales team to provide pre-sales as well as training for customers. We quickly grew to have the largest customer base out of the entire global group of companies based on the targeted product designed specifically for the SMB market.
I was also responsible for all customer onboarding and support.

IP Services Xchange - IPsX

IP Services Xchange (IPsX) was the first Virtual Network Operator (VNO) in the WAN arena in Australia and were the first company to establish relationships with all the Tier 1 network carriers and interconnect them through existing network-network interconnects (NNI) . This provided a seamless and integrated solution for our corporate and enterprise customers from one provider - IPsX. IPsX provided the design, build, project management, billing, support and managed services around the WAN solution and was a single point of contact. IPsX operated very efficiently and maintained extremely low overhead as it utilized the capital intensive roll-outs provided by the Tier 1 operators like Telstra, Optus, AAPT, NEC/Nextep and UEcomm to name a few.
I was responsible for the following:
•	Provide all pre-sales support for the sales team
•	Design all Client Wide Area Networks using various Layer 2 technology over Fibre/DSL/X.163/Satellite
•	Provisioning and Carrier service ordering
•	Project Manage the Implementation of all Client Networks
•	Act as escalation point for our Internal Helpdesk team as well as for clients 24x7
•	Built the managed service and monitoring platform with our partner Netstar Networks
•	Maintain all client technical records
•	Manage all supplier relationships
•	Product Development and implementation
•	Cisco router and DSL modem configuration
•	Assist with all business and financial budgeting and management including Cash Flow Analysis


ACHEIVEMENTS:
•	Acquired Corporate and enterprise clients while competing against the larger operators from which we were buying services
•	Signed GE and all their Australian based business units as one of our first clients all managed from their Asia Pacific office in Hong Kong
•	Cash flow positive within first 12 months with less than $100K total investment
•	Successfully achieved $4M in recurring revenue with a great reputation for premium solutions and customer service
•	Aquired by Public company telco  Intrapower Ltd

Technical Director & Co-Founder

connect - AAPT

After feeling homesick, I returned to Melbourne as the Bid Manager for connect - AAPT. In this role, i still maintained the same responsibilities as Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer but now was also responsible for project managing all aspects of responding to major RFPs and tenders and being the single point of contact. This ensured the tenders were responded to in a timely manner and successfully submitted by the closing date/time. I collected and managed the responses from all applicable teams such as the Business owners, pricing committee, Network Engineering team and Product Management and Marketing.
Once a tender was won, I was responsible to Project Manage the implementation and rollout of the proposed solution.

Senior Enterprise Bid Manager

I returned to work at connect - AAPT in their Sydney office as they were in need of a Senior sales engineer to lead their junior sales engineering team as well as support the senior enterprise account managers and business development executives. Most of connect's biggest enterprise customers were manged from the Sydney office so I was happy to relocate to engage with some of the biggest names in the country. I found this much more challenging and was able to gain an even deeper knowledge of Internet and WAN technologies such as BGP routing, redundant network architecture and Bank level security. Some of the clients I was working with were Telecom NZ, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) and Thomson Reuters.

Responsibilities included:
•	Work with the Sales team to provide Technical pre sales support for Enterprise clients nationally
•	Lead manager on all Tenders and Bids
•	Major interface between Product Management, Marketing and Sales for all technical related matters
•	Manage a team of Sales Engineers nationally
•	Train all new Sales Engineers and Enterprise Sales Executives

Senior Enterprise Sales Engineer

Connect was one of the first commercial Internet providers in Australia spawned from the University networks. It was solely a B2B provider and did not have a consumer offering. 
In my role as a Sales Engineer, I was responsible for providing the following:
- dynamic pre & post sales support advising on networking strategies and interpreting corporate and wholesale clients’ Internet requirements at a technical level and translate into appropriate solutions .
•	Maintain the highest level of support for the Corporate Sales team which includes developing and implementing training and induction programs and assessing and reviewing staff knowledge;
•	Reporting to senior management on the impact of new technologies, competing solutions and other marketplace changes impacting the market position of connect.com.au. 
•	Working very closely with Marketing and Product Managers to develop and test new product implementations in line with current and new technologies. 
		  
ACHIEVEMENTS:
•	Further developed a deep understanding of IP networking and WAN technologies gained through the implementation of numerous national and international VPN’s and extranets using Cisco technology, IP access provisioning  and Firewall security and encryption; 
•	Detailed knowledge of data services such as ATM, ISDN, xDSL, LMDS and DDS;
•	Assisted Sales team achieve monthly quota and exceed budget for multiple record sales months;
•	Cultivate and maintain valuable customer relationships with the highest level of customer service and professionalism.

I have a passion for technology and an eye for spotting market trends and the ability to translate these to successful business outcomes. I have been directly involved in several startups, many from the ground up, and learned a lifetime of lessons.

From building one of the first Virtual Network Operators (VNO) in Australia in the early 2000's to playing an integral role in developing a Cloud Computing business in Silicon Valley, my contribution to the business is integral to it's success.
