*  Assembled nationwide commission sales force that called on schools and public
libraries. Conducted regional sales conferences. Coordinated state and local trade shows. 
*  Worked closely with Henry Holt's trade sales department on major distributor,
wholesale, and trade accounts. Presented our list to Holt's trade reps at bi-annual sales
conferences, and to leading accounts at their national sales meetings and workshops. 
*  Created marketing campaigns for all new titles, including targeted direct mailings to
niche markets. Compiled and maintained databases of influential reviewers, key accounts,
and award committees. Developed all promotional material: catalogs, brochures, direct mail
pieces, newsletters, press releases, and order forms. Planned and implemented yearly
advertising schedule. 
*  Assisted special sales department in opening new markets and furthering business with
existing accounts.

Marketing and Sales Director - Twenty First Century Books/Marketing Director - Owl Books

A newly created position at Henry Holt: responsible for all marketing duties for trade
paperback imprint, Holt's largest division in terms of new titles and overall sales each
year. 
*  Established Owl marketing position as an integral part of Holt's publicity, promotion,
and sales team. Acted as nerve center for Owl marketing information by developing lists of
key contacts, media, organizations, and shows. Kept trade sales reps up-to-date on Owl
news with regular news flashes and at sales conferences. 
*  Initiated programs designed to raise the profile of Owl with the trade reps and in the
marketplace. 
*  Coordinated Internet marketing for appropriate titles with outside marketing firm.
