Typically, each day is different in that it does not follow one particular pattern. Some days are slower and more strategically focused while other days there might be a critical business need or request and I do what I need to do to support or tackle the task myself. 

On an ongoing basis, I...

- Propagates the vision of GenEx to our employees and clients by constantly reading, reviewing, and pondering pertinent historical and current visions and models of operational excellence. 

- Assists and drive the development of the long-term strategic planning implemented by the Directors of GenEx.

- Oversee the Sales, Marketing and Product Owner teams. 

- Ensure the effective implementation, alongside the product owner, of GenEx into schools; and ensure there is an effective feedback loop between Schools and GenEx. 

- Together, with the CEO and Head of Human Resources, recruits staff to employ at GenEx.

- Oversees the assignment, evaluation, training, encouragement, discipline, and inspiration of the staff.

- Along with the Head of Human Resources, make sure GenEx staff’s needs are met by determining these needs and by making sure that policies are in place to meet those needs resulting in a positive experience for the staff at the workplace.

- Direct the daily operation of GenEx, by supervising the operational staff (Sales, Marketing, Product Owners etc.), by coordinating of activities by the creation of clear lines of authority, and by setting the tone for GenEx to run smoothly.

Rallim is an innovative and unique modern learning environment which is a response to the current climate in the South African educational sphere as well as in the global arena. 

During my time at Rallim I challenged conventional school marketing. From day one I leveraged new techniques to help ensure Rallim stood out. 

Wins include:

- Drove significant growth in the customer/student base, achieving 87% capacity before Rallim opened in Jan 2019 and maintained a high enrolment rate of 95% from 2020 to 2022 (830 students)

- Successfully planned and executed Open Days, adapted to a digital format during the height of the pandemic, resulting in high attendance rates: 1200 in 2019, 650 in 2020, and 950 in 2021, and enhanced the school's reputation and visibility.

- Created a highly popular bi-annual artesian style community market, Hucksters Feastival, attracting an average attendance of 2000+, resulting in increased community engagement, positive brand exposure, and potential revenue opportunities. 

- School song: I approached Arno Carstens (a well-known SA artist) to co-write the Rallim school song along with Michaelangelo Cloete. I'm proud to say I have a songwriting credit due to my writing contribution to the Rallim school song.

Conversocial is a social customer service software tool for Facebook and Twitter, used by companies including Groupon, Tesco, Net A Porter and more. 

As a SaaS Account Executive, I was responsible for driving growth for Conversocial by developing and executing business strategies. I identified new market opportunities, negotiated partnerships, and led cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects. My goal was to increase revenue and market share, positioning Conversocial as a leader in the SaaS industry.

- Achieved 154% in Year 1 and 350% in Year 2 through effective prospecting, targeted research, and successful sales calls and meetings.

My diagnosis, it's going to be good for business.

For 43 years, I brushed aside the signs and kept 
pushing forward in my career. 

But this past week marked a turning point that I never saw coming—I was diagnosed with ADHD.

And let me tell you, I FEEL AMAZING.

Suddenly, everything makes sense. 

The struggles with focus, the bursts of energy, the creative torrents—everything has a name, and more importantly, a framework for understanding.

Clarity is an incredible gift. 

For the first time, I understand why, although I excel at what I do, I can't maintain the momentum for hours on end without feeling overwhelmed.

Today alone, I've achieved so much more than usual.

Why more conversation equate to more sales. 

On LinkedIn, the challenge isn't just selling; it's
standing out in a sea of sales pitches.

Yesterday, an awesome connection request popped up. 
I though woh, awesome. Accept... boom - pitch slap. 

It kinda bummed me out.

If you're wondering why your numbers aren't hitting 
the mark, it might be because you're focused 
more on selling than connecting.

When all you do is sell, sell, sell, prospects tune out. 

They're bombarded daily with offers. 

What they're missing is someone who listens, understands, and provides value – 
not just another salesperson.

You gotta shift the script. 

More conversation leads to more sales. 

You need to tune in to what prospects truly need.

They need you to:

- Help them reach their goals.
- Easing their struggles.
- Solving their problems.
- Simplifying their lives.

When you listen more than you talk, you're not just selling – you're building trust, relationships, and, yes, you're increasing your sales. 

Engage in genuine conversations, and watch how your LinkedIn presence transforms into a sales magnet.

Content creation overwhelm & fear "got" me!

This has been my reality in the past and I'm 
sure the reality of many on LinkedIn.

The good news, I was able to flip the script,  
and you can too.

My fears:

- Choosing the right content - ”topic on point?”

- Losing authenticity -”is this my voice?”

- Rejection - “zero traction, nobody likes this”

- Judgment - “am I seen as a wannabe?”

- Failure - “all that time, no one bites”

It's not in my nature to be consumed by fear, 
instead, I run toward it. 

- Overcoming indecision: It's about staying focused on my expertise and asking: “Is this valuable/helpful for CEOs and Founders?

- Being me is winning: I embrace my unique voice and make my colourful personality my sand-out element in my content.

- The truth… you're not always going to stop the scroll with you content. Write for one person, address them directly. Those who resonate will become your people. 

- Don't chase validation, do you and make sure it shows in your content.

- Sometimes you'll miss. If you're not making mistakes you're not pushing and learning. Put in the time & effort and you will get there.

I kept making these 4 LinkedIn Mistakes...

They held back my engagement. 
It was mega frustrating.

But I only had myself to blame.

1. Direct messaging my network asking for likes on every post: It was like showing up uninvited to a party and asking everyone to applaud my entrance.

2. Tagging half my network in comments or posts: I realised tagging should be meaningful, not a mass call-out that floods notifications.

3. Linking my post in unrelated comments: It was like crashing someone else's conversation at a dinner party just to promote myself.

4. Posting and ghosting: I've learned I've got to be present to build genuine connections. It doesn't work if I vanish after dropping a post.

Be lekker, do this instead:

- Engage regularly your network: Genuine interaction builds lasting connections.

- Analyse your posts for improvement: Learn from each one to refine your content strategy.

- Put your audience first: Content should add value to their lives, not just serve my agenda.

Listen you can't force genuine engagement. People try, but it just does not work. 

Genuine connection is built on mutual interest and respect.

How I build a quality LinkedIn network.

The daily drill: scrolling through LinkedIn, stumble upon intriguing posts, and perhaps give them a read. 

It's all-consuming, often pointless unless 
you take it a step further.

Follow this roadmap and turn content discoveries 
into meaningful connections:

1. Content Discovery
It all begins with what's on the feed. 

Before accepting that connection request, take a peek at their activity. Are they actively sharing valuable insights? How frequently are they contributing to the conversation? 

Active profiles matter—a lot.

2. Comment
Engagement is the name of the game.

A comment can open doors to meaningful interactions. It's not just about leaving a quick "Great post!"—it's about showing genuine interest in what others have to say and adding value.

3. Direct Message
Take it further. 

Once you've established a connection through comments, take the conversation to the DMs. 

By engaging authentically, you show active interest, which is far more persuasive and memorable than a cold DM pitch slap.

4. Google Meets Call
Seal the deal. 

Transitioning from digital to face-to-face interactions is where the magic happens. Schedule a video call and deepen the connection, then explore opportunities.

Why does it matter?

Because the 'new way' is essentially relationship marketing in the digital age. 

It's about building genuine connections, 
not just contacts.

Keep evolving your approach to networking and remember, every touchpoint, that's foundations 
of trust being laid. 

Share your insights openly, leverage multimedia content strategically, attend and engage in LinkedIn events, and maintain consistency in your interactions to maximise your impact.

Most importantly... be unashamedly you.

Headline

→ This needs to be eye-catching
→ Does it target your Ideal Client's main problem?
→ Does it compel the reader to keep on reading?
→ Is the focus solely on the text?
