Catch A Thief is a centralised website aimed at tackling shop theft and other crimes committed against businesses across the UK, this is done by adding images/footage of reported crimes to the Catch A Thief UK website, for the purpose of appeal/identification and deterrent. The general public then get the chance to view these images/footage, anonymously report any suspect they may recognise via the Catch A Thief UK platform. Once suspects are identified we will remove all images/footage from the Catch A Thief UK platform and prepare an evidence pack for the attention of the police for further investigation or if the business prefers we will process a private prosecution. Once any suspect is convicted it then becomes news, so will be uploaded back to the platform as news for the purpose of keeping the retail community and public informed! As not to infringe the rights of any person deemed a suspect or convicted displayed on our platforms, we have put a procedure and practices in place as to advise any suspects or convicted person of their rights as set out in Law. Any convicted person or suspect on our platform has the right to be forgotten! They can find information via our platform that advises of this and how they can request to be removed, this will be considered by our revelant department.
