Is the JSON streaming deserialization possible in .NET?

It becomes possible from .NET 8.

But what is streaming in the context of data?

It means that you get data incrementally in a continuous flow.

The most common example is video streaming.

Now imagine…

You got a huge JSON payload(100_000+), that needs to be displayed to the user.

So, you will first deserialize it and then display it, right?

That process won’t be fast and you can make some user-friendly decisions like activity indicator until the process is finished.

But, is it better to show the data as soon as we get it?

That is where the new feature from System.Net.Http.Json comes in.

From .NET 8 you have the possibility to use 
GetFromJsonAsAsyncEnumerable<T> method.

It will return IAsyncEnumerable<T> that allows data iteration in an async manner.

And the benefits you will get are:

- Reduced memory usage
- Improved performance
- Real-time processing

This can be a way to go if you process data from IoT devices or log file analysis.
