First of all, no agency can provide you with an exact number.

If they do, they are guessing.

Second, CVR is not the most important metric.

You can boost your CVR by introducing discounts, but it will not necessarily bring you more revenue.

Instead, we like to focus on the number of statistically significant winning tests.

I believe this is the most valid way of measuring short-term CRO success.

Therefore, our tactic is simple:

1) Test as much as possible
2) Back each test with the research to increase the chance of winning

Running 5-8 tests per month with a 20-30% win rate with an average uplift of 3-10% per test compound over time.

When someone tells you not to send your traffic to your homepage, don’t listen.

Instead, test your homepage against your current LP.

If it wins, it wins.

Homepage could be a good landing page too.

Just make sure it:

1. Captures attention
2. Is clear and not cluttered
3. Communicates value proposition
4. Has CTA and social proof above the fold

One mistake that can waste a ton of your time…


Testing full-page redesigns.

3 main reasons why it's wrong:

1) Takes a lot of time to implement
2) Hard to iterate and make a better version
3) Hard to understand why the redesign performed better or worse

Especially when it performed worse.

In that case, the time is wasted, and the next steps are unclear.

Here’s why testing changes 1 by 1 is good:

1) Quick implementation
2) Easy to iterate and learn
3) Easy to understand the exact effect of the change

However, there are 2 cases when testing a full-page redesign makes sense:

- Page traffic is low
- You track the performance of each new section/element (requires advanced custom tracking)
