Customs Broker

Brought in as Operations Specialist to maintain the administration and customer service needs of SGS Transitnet department. 

Responsible for creating and providing T1 declarations within the expected SLA after confirming that all information is correct across all shipping documents.

Part of my remit is to also check that the EAD documents have been completed correctly with the UCR and MRN stated. 

Externally focused, I deliver all completed declarations on behalf of the clients, using our inhouse software. As part of this, it also includes checking the declarations that e-clients have submitted themselves to avoid any customs issues that may occur due to incorrect information.

Day-to-day duties include; prioritizing workload and managing the inbox, working closely with team members to ensure all declarations are completed with reduced potential for error, liaising with warehouses, carriers and agents directly and responding to client queries and advising accordingly regarding customs / HMRC rules and regulations.

Operations Specialist

Joined Armen Shipping as Shipping Coordinator and quickly promoted to Sales Account Manager within a short time. 

Responsible for leading a team of 5 members and ensuring all tasks were completed to the highest standard.

I had full visibility of client requirements and ensured that they were satisfied with the service they were receiving, by communicating throughout the whole process and managing expectations.

One of my duties as Account Manager was to business development and onboard new clients to our company, taking full responsibility for the requirements of these clients and delegating to other team members if necessary.

Responsible for scheduling the transportation of our customers shipments via containers from and to Europe and/or China. This included liaising with clients and administrators across different countries.
Following through with the process from the initial enquiry until the arrival of the goods and customs clearance. Ensured that all relevant information had been updated in our system and further follow through with updates to my direct manager.

My day-to-day duties included; keeping all customers regularly updated regarding the details of their orders, ensuring all information across the documentation are correct and align with each other.
I would also follow on from the shipment process and liaise with the invoicing department to ensure
all costs have been calculated correctly and relay this back to the client accordingly. 

Part of my duties would also include keeping track of the progress until payment had been fully completed, maintaining our customer relationships and motivating clients to stay with our company. 
I would regularly check contracts and keep track of contract renewal dates in order to provide high quality service.

I would ensure all required export and import documents e.g. AWB / BL. 

Part of my leadership duties were to conduct weekly team meetings and one-to-ones, deal with any issues/ queries and mentor my team.

Sales Account Manager

My role as Purchasing Officer required me to prepare contract agreements for the clients between the consignor and consignee and conduct meetings with potential sellers.

Then, upon agreement of prices and items to be purchased, my task was to prepare a report and inform my
managers.

My day-to-day duties included; preparing the order forms and log all data into the systems, checking all documents are in accordance with the information provided, liaise with the freight agency, to schedule the shipping of the goods via Air/Road/Sea, prepare and analyse stock check reports and work closely with the accounting department to track the payment terms of our shippers and confirm that payment dates were being met.

Purchasing Officer

Capita

During my position at Capita, my role was to communicate with our customers and understand their training requirements. Based on the customers’ requirements, I would then advise the most suitable courses that they may enroll on.

Upon deciding which course they would like to enroll on, it was my duty to input their data into the Coursebooker and Ebydos systems.

I would also keep track of any orders placed for training equipment that may be required during the courses, track payment terms and I would report back to my direct manager on a weekly basis, to provide information regarding our sales, profits and any customer feedback received.
