If you want to understand how to write clean, maintainable, and testable code,
learn the FLUID code pattern:


We often read about SOLID principles, Clean Code, and other best practices.

These practices help us write code that is easy to change and extend.

Yet in real life, many projects and codebases fall into the opposite trap. 

Let’s call this pattern the “F.L.U.I.D” code.

This code is Fragile, Lax, Untested, Insecure, and Disorganized.

Fragile Code:
↳small changes break other features, causing many bugs; teams start to fear making changes in the code.

Lax Coding Standards:
↳ no shared style guide; poor code reviews and many merge conflicts.

Untested Code:
↳ no automated tests; might lead to production regressions.

Insecure Code:
↳ skips input validation and sanitization; security breaches.

Disorganized Code:
↳ no clear project structure; duplicate code; confusion among team members. 

Understanding these anti-patterns helps us identify problems early on and take corrective action to get the project back on track.

The worst architecture decisions are the ones that worked... until they didn't.

My client's Two-Tier Architecture served them well for years.

Then it became their biggest problem.

👎 THE PROBLEM:

Three services (Portal, Admin, API) all write to the same MySQL database.

Business logic is duplicated everywhere.
Features are taking weeks, not days.
New developers have been struggling for months.
CakePHP2 reaching end-of-life.

Core Concepts of GraphQL:

→ Queries
↳ Used to read or fetch data. They represent the way clients can request specific data from a GraphQL Server. 

→ Mutations
↳ Used to change data. Similar to queries in syntax, but instead of just fetching data, mutations modify server-side data.

→ Schema Definition Language (SDL)
↳ The syntax used to write a GraphQL schema. It’s human-readable and used to define types, queries, mutations, and the relationships between types. 

→ GraphQL Schema
↳ Represents the contract between the client and the server. It defines the capabilities of the API by specifying how the client can fetch and mutate data. 

→ Resolvers 
↳ Server-side functions that handle the fetching or manipulation of data for a particular field of a type in the schema. Each field on each type has a resolver function.
