It is what drove me to coach Little League baseball while still in high school. It drove me to study criminal justice in college, take on leadership roles throughout my career, and go into talent development. It is also why I sought my coaching certification - to have a profound impact. I love to help people achieve big things. I have trained over 4,000 leaders on five continents and helped build and scale an internal coaching program in a large enterprise. Clarity emerges through a process of thought, followed by action, repeated over time. When I began the journey of being self-employed, there was far more I didn't know than what I did. Over the past 9 months, I have been able to serve a wide array of clients through coaching, training, and facilitating. I have traveled to Brazil and Austin. Next month I'm going to Puerto Rico. I've made new friends. Lots of them. My weekly process has been pretty consistent: ✅ Time spent thinking and reflecting ✅ Taking action on that thinking (even when it scared the hell out of me) ✅ Repeat. (reflect, unlearn, relearn, and take another action) A couple of months ago, clarity began to emerge, and the next steps presented themselves. My business has two distinct avatars that I am serving, which are quite different. I still do training and facilitating for some clients, and I will continue to do so. Clarity came when I realized who I really enjoy working with most. The values, habits, and energy were a great fit. I am focusing my coaching and advising work on the home service industry to help those business owners think like entrepreneurs, grow their profits, and build systems to compete and win. This has resulted in updating this part of my business and branding it accordingly.     "The future you seek is built through the actions you avoid. Remember that." - Sahil Bloom I read this today and it got me thinking...and I pass this along: What are you currently avoiding? What is it costing you? Avoidance leads to missed opportunities. It creates regret. It's when you: - Delay decisions - Fear failure - Ignore problems - Stay in your comfort zone These habits hold you back. Consider the cost of avoidance. It keeps you from growth. It limits your potential. You miss chances to learn. You miss chances to succeed. Some things I see business owners avoid: - Firing that underperforming or toxic employee - Hiring a coach who can help them break through a plateau - Learning about operations and finance so they can manage KPIs - Letting go of making every decision and controlling everything So I ask you to consider these questions one more time... What are you currently avoiding? What is it costing you? If you're ready to take control of your business and your future, lean into what you've previously avoided.       What do the summer of 1989 and the spring of 2025 have in common? Standing on the roof of our house, helping my uncle replace shingles (was I really that helpful?) is a memory that has stayed with me. Finishing our basement with my dad. Building a ginormous entertainment center from scratch for my bedroom. Weekends at Builder's Square. The roots of things we are passionate about hang around, and maybe eventually we can bring them to life at some point. For me, building things is part of that passion.
